Represents the Postal Service in the filing of and defense of appeals before the EEOC Office of Federal Operations. Qualifications/Requirements 1. Ability to identify legal issues presented by moderately complex factual situations and to perform investigations of the factual circumstances underlying legal issues presented. 2. Ability to collect evidence, information, and documents (informally and through formal discovery) from complainants, witnesses, management officials and other postal employees. 3. Ability to communicate in writing to prepare correspondence, statement of facts and issues, pre and post hearing submissions and motions, as well as litigation reports and legal pleadings. 4. Ability to communicate orally to present the Law Department's assessment of EEO cases, including potential settlement options and the negotiation of a resolution, based on authorized monetary limits and/or non-monetary considerations, with attorneys, legal representatives, and postal clients. 5. Ability to integrate specific facts and evidence obtained from investigations with primary and secondary law to determine the nature, cause, legal responsibility and potential value of complaints, and develop appropriate defense theories and case strategy. 6. Ability to serve as a representative of the Postal Service at EEO hearings and mediations. 7. Knowledge of EEOC and federal case law, statutes and regulations, as they relate to the analysis and resolution of complaints filed pursuant to Title VII, the Age Discrimination Act, the Rehabilitation Act, and the Equal Pay Act. 8. Knowledge of EEOC procedures to include basic legal terminology and principles. Overview The Reflection Room Monitor position ensures that students assigned to the Reflection Room work on study habits, classroom behavior skills, and a positive self-image. Essential Job Functions: • Coordinates, provides and supervises instructional and behavioral activities for students assigned to the Reflection Room. • Coordinates assignments and activities with classroom teachers of referred students; provides tutorial assistance as needed and monitors student's class work. • Assists students in examining misbehavior and developing strategies to prevent reoccurrences. • Works with other school personnel to assist students in the development of techniques to control and express anger constructively, encourage positive student behavior, and promote safety in the school. • Assigns and oversees additional assignments related to student infractions. • Contacts parents regarding student conduct and behavior modification plans. • Communicates proactively with teachers to inform them of student issues and conversations with parents. • Responds to emails and phone calls from school leaders and teachers in a timely manner. • Assists during standardized testing. • Assists with supplies, materials, and equipment distribution, including technology. When in a school-based learning environment • monitors students' movement throughout the building to other classrooms, learning areas, and cafeteria. • Assists students with classroom and cafeteria clean up and wiping down surfaces. • Assists transition of students. • Engages in professional learning opportunities. •Required to have prompt, regular attendance. • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative. • Supervises during lunch or recess as needed.
