The Role: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides hands-on behavioral support services and training to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Makom's clinic-based setting. Under the supervision of a licensed clinician or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT implements individualized behavior support plans and delivers hands-on training and modeling of interventions to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This role is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, observant, and committed to delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered behavioral care while supporting staff skill development and service quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Registered Behavior Technician plays a critical role in supporting individual growth, staff competency, and overall service effectiveness. Essential responsibilities include: Behavioral Support & Skill Development Implement individualized behavior intervention and support plans as designed by clinical supervisors. Model positive behavior support techniques during short behavioral support sessions to enhance DSP competency. Data Collection & Documentation Collect accurate behavioral and skill acquisition data in accordance with clinical protocols. Document progress, target behaviors, and intervention effectiveness for BCBA review. Complete all required documentation thoroughly, accurately, and promptly. Maintain confidentiality and client dignity in compliance with HIPAA and Makom policies. Collaboration & Professional Engagement Collaborate with clinical staff and interdisciplinary team members. Participate in ongoing training, supervision sessions, and team meetings. Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using approved de-escalation techniques. Support service delivery in accordance with Maryland DDA Behavioral Support Services (BSS) guidelines. Other Responsibilities Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive clinic environment. Work Environment Clinic-based setting serving adults receiving behavioral and therapeutic services. Schedule This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard office operations are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional work outside these hours as needed.
