Responsibilities of the Licensed Therapist
Provides direct patient care for Wayspring patients and care collaboration for complex patients with multiple needs, determines the best strategy and support for the patient to encourage engagement (Clinical Care Navigators, Psychiatric NPs and Primary Care NPs).
Continues or conducts initial assessments for new patients
Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
Meets with patients regularly to talk about treatment plan, track progress on treatment plans, and adjusts treatment plans as necessary
Conducts ongoing screenings of patient progress
Complies with documentation standards within clinic documentation platform, Athena (EMR) to ensure regulatory compliance

The Lead Behavioral Health Technician (LBHT) provides one-to-one behavioral management interventions to the child or adolescent with a serious emotional disturbance, in the assigned home, school or community setting, in support of the family or other responsible adults, in order to prevent more restrictive services or out-of-home placement. The LBHT carries out specific behavioral management interventions identified in the treatment plan for the child(ren) or adolescent(s) assigned to their care. This role involves the provision of 1:1 service with a child or adolescent. Services may also be provided to integrate or reintegrate the child into normalizing settings and activities. The LBHT is responsible for providing behavioral health interventions to stabilize the child, assist the child in developing age-appropriate self-management skills, and to support, and empower parents, family members, teachers or other adults responsible for supervising the child in an educational or other community setting. The LBHT works with the child, school staff, family and the entire treatment team by implementing the plan techniques in order to achieve the desired goals. The LBHT also acts as a mentor to other BHT team members and assists them with acclimation to the role and the school. The LBHT, in conjunction with the Lead BC, acts as a liaison between the IBHS program and the school.
II. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
Communication
Maintain contact with treatment team members (schools, families, wraparound staff, and other relevant parties).
Clearly and effectively communicate pertinent information to responsible parties.
Advocate for the needs of the consumer to accomplish treatment objectives.
Communicates pertinent treatment information to the Clinical Supervisor.
Collaborate with other programs and departments to assure continuity of service for designated consumers.
Documentation
Completes all progress notes within 72 hours of service to assure appropriate billing of services
Completes all documentation in a timely fashion and in required formats, including, but not limited to progress notes, incident reports, and encounter forms.
Documents all therapeutic interactions, unusual incidents, routine activities, etc. as required by policies and procedures
Planning
Input into daily BHT schedule
Plans and organizes interventions that support in the social, emotional and educational development of the consumer, based upon the Treatment Plan.
Attends interagency meetings to ensure continuity of service.
Attends mandatory in-service trainings.
Participates in Performance Improvement Activities.
Attends psychiatric and medication evaluation to assure service delivery.
Monitoring
In accordance with the principles of best practice, provides oversight and direction to assigned children.
Assist the parent, teacher or other responsible adults in their efforts to provide direct supervision of the child(ren).
Maintain coordination through interagency meetings.
Assess and reassess the service needs of the designated consumers and inform the Clinician assigned to the child for update of the Treatment Plan.
Direct Service
Prioritizes child with the highest need and ensures they are assisted, if they do not have an assigned staff that day.
Provides ongoing support to consumers and other staff as determined by the Written Order.
Creates an environment which fosters positive growth and development for all consumers.
Provides interventions to promote social growth in all consumers.
Directly implements components of the treatment plans developed in conjunction with the treatment team.
Provides regular/routine feedback to team regarding relevance of treatment plan, need for alternative interventions, etc.
Supervision
Provides weekly support to staff regarding the provision of treatment to each case, as well as administrative issues
Oversees BHT in timely completion of paperwork
Insures BHT staff are following daily schedules and are with clients providing services as outlined in treatment plans
In cooperation with IBHS Lead Behavior Consultant and Care Coordinator, evaluates the administrative performance of the BHT staff
In cooperation with IBHS Lead Behavior Consultant, may interview and train BHT staff
Networking
Represents agency at conferences, training and interagency meetings, as needed.
Completes Other Duties as Assigned
III. BASIC SKILL SETS
Ability to communicate and interact with all staff.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from varied groups, including the media.
Ability to accurately calculate numbers, such as in addition, subtraction and percentages.
Ability to give clear and concise oral and written instructions.
Excellent working knowledge of the Behavioral Health system. Knowledge of and ability to navigate other systems.
Ability to read and understand complex instructions such as regulatory policies.
Excellent working knowledge of the use of computers and pertinent software programs.
IV: QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
2 years of experience providing Behavioral Health services
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with people in varied settings
Special Skills: Familiar with multiple child-serving systems (e.g. education, juvenile justice, child welfare, mental health, drug and alcohol, health care, and vocational rehabilitation).
V. PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
Ability to walk up and down steps.
Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Ability to operate a calculator or computer.
Current valid driver's license and the willingness to drive as needed
Requires some flexible work schedule, evening and weekend hours.
