BCBA Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education Services:
Act as a resource on behavior management to Special Education staff.
Provide coordination, consultation, and program development for behavior management processes.
Assist in the development and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Act as case manager for students with behavioral needs placed in non-public school programs.
Conduct functional behavioral assessments and prepare documents.
Assist in soliciting meaningful involvement of parents in the implementation of positive behavior intervention plans and in the determination of appropriate placement.
Provide clinical oversight and supervision for student cases.
Provide and or coordinate staff development on behavior management.
Assure district awareness of the provision of full educational opportunities in a least restrictive environment.
Function as a cooperative and contributing member of district and multidisciplinary teams. Provide support in the implementation of the due process regulations.
Collect and analyze data to support documentation on progress for Individual Education Plans.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

DUTIES:
Assists with admission/intake procedures on new residents including all paperwork, room assignments, and initial orientation.
Conducts property searches of residents as required by program standards.

Ability to write clear (and concise) statements, summarizing resident's feelings, expressions, resistance and response to their treatment plan; goals and objectives.
Ability to confront behavioral changes, identifies a crisis, and recognize when additional assistance is necessary.
Ability to recognize personal recovery issues that have an impact on job performance and interactions with residents.
Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and resident confidentiality.

What we are looking for:
People with a passion for working with children
Previous experience working with children or people with disabilities and an interest in behavioral health
Available to work in the afternoons/early evenings, and possible weekend morning hours
Must have own reliable transportation, and valid driver's license, auto registration and auto insurance
Proof of immunization records and TB.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Must be available for initial 2 week training schedule (M-F, about 35 hours)
The position requires lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials for home visits. Also frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with participants
Work hours: Our main working hours are Monday thru Friday 3PM-8PM & Saturday 9AM-1PM. Candidates must be available to work at least 15 hours per week within this timeframe.
Areas of coverage (cases will be assigned based on where you live): Pasadena, Altadena, Monrovia, Silverlake, Arcadia, La Canada Flintridge, and other surrounding areas.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 6 months of exposure to/experience with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or other related developmental disabilities. Some examples include working with typically developing children in a group setting (children with demonstrated deficits or challenging behavior preferred), having a family member with ASD, a neighbor with a developmental disability, or even volunteer work in a classroom with a child with ASD, etc.
EDUCATION:
Degree not required, but must have at least completed some college coursework or be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. We have a preference to programs related to early childhood education, psychology, nursing or related field.

Adventure Leader

Performs opening duties and closing duties to prepare facility for next day activity.
Toddler Town Attendant
Staffs and monitors Toddler Town to ensure that participant's activities are conducted in a safe manner.

Meets performance standards as Adventure Leader and takes part in training program and passes competency tests to serve in both the following roles:
Parent Night Out and Seasonal Camps (e.g., Veterans Day Camp, Winter Camp) Staff:
Leads and engages in age-specific programs, activities, arts and crafts, games and recreational activities outlined in the schedule.
Engages in the setup and break down of camp activities, including preparation and cleanup for crafts, games and activities.
Shows interest and excitement in scheduled activities and seeks ways to include all campers in every activity.
Supervises participants throughout the facility to ensure activities are conducted in a safe manner (e.g., playing in the Adventure Room, climbing the rock wall).
Alerts supervisor or Manager on Duty of problems involving campers and programs and suggests potential solutions.
SPECIALTY SERVICES
Meets performance standards for Basic Services job roles and takes part in training program and passes competency tests to serve in one or both the following roles:
Events Staff
Prepares birthday party room organizing tables, etc. and cleans up room after party has ended.
Leads birthday party by greeting party guests, hosting event and activities, maintaining control of party room at all times, and coordinating final payment after event has ended.
Acts as a liaison for party guests and supervises children with the party at all times to ensure guest safety.
Understands Events booking process as well as all events policies and procedures with ability to enforce policies and procedures with guests.
Outdoors Staff
Completes Outdoors checklists to help maintain a safe and clean environment.
Facilitates Outdoors activities such as taking individuals or groups through the ropes course or teaching basic climbing and assisting individuals up the rock wall.
Provides motivation and encouragement to participants and offers positive feedback throughout the entire experience.
Works with staff to develop and execute program plans for teambuilding workshops or large groups.
Miscellaneous
Performs assigned training, duties, and work schedule as a disaster service worker on behalf of BCHD.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Currently pursuing or completed a High School Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of six months prior work (or volunteer) experience with children.
