What You Will Do

Position Description
The primary role of the Behavioral Interventionist is to support scholars with IEPs through small group instruction, push-in classroom support, and reading intervention. The ideal candidate should have experience working with students with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist scholars with behavioral challenges in and outside the classroom
* Provide support to students with special education needs to achieve IEP goals
* Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacher
* Facilitate reading intervention, small group instruction and pull out groups
* Conduct academic assessments
* Provide instruction in various drills and activities using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills
* Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academics

ABA Behavior Interventionists / Technicians / RBT's Behavior Therapy Clinic, one of the most established agencies (25+ years) in the Los Angeles area is looking for experienced Behavior Interventionists to work with children with autism and related disorders .
BCBA, BCaBA, and RBT supervision provided. Our interventionists assist in the application of behavioral programs that are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and specifically designed for each particular client. School based assignments involve supporting students through the school day with challenging behaviors. Assignments additionally involve working with the clients teaching play skills, social skills, language skills, attention skills, and self-help skills. The interventionist must integrate knowledge and capability to help clients manage their behaviors and must record daily progress in notes and on data collection forms. He or she will receive ongoing training and supervision and have regular communication with BCBA supervisors. Candidates require attention to detail both clinically and administratively.

- Must have experience with managing high levels of behaviors

Follow Cortica crisis and emergency procedures, including de-escalation strategies, first aid strategies, mandated reporting

We'd love to hear from you if:
You have experience working with children, preferably children with autism.
You ideally possess a bachelor's degree (not required) in a human service (or related) field; candidates with relevant work experience in lieu of bachelor's degree will be considered; students enrolled in undergraduate studies will also be considered.
You are currently a Registered Behavior Technician or Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) or are willing to obtain the BCAT credential via Cortica's training program within the first 45 days.
You are available to work some days, late afternoons and evenings.
You possess a valid California Driver's license and reliable transportation.
You are skilled at using software and systems including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
You preferably have knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.
