The selected candidate will have a commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to inpatient care in partnership with our Cardiothoracic Surgeons. This candidate will manage the CVICU & CVIMC
as well as the step-down unit

Our practice specializes in adult cardiac surgery, Aortic surgery, Minimally Invasive Valve Surgery, Thoracic surgery, and
Hybrid Maze procedure
for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation. Our practice also implants and manages ECMO and the Impella 5.5. The program participates in the STS Registry and aggressively benchmarks performance as part of an ever-vigilant quality and outcomes improvement program. The program strives to improve the cardiothoracic profession and is participating in the cutting-edge clinical research, development of new programs, and educational opportunities.
Requirements:
Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant medical license in FL; valid controlled substance registration with FL; Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
2 years inpatient Surgical Cardiac CV experience
A strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.

This position, under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated student health care services within the School Health Program as Unlicensed Assistive Personnel. The primary function is to provide care during the school day to students for illness, injury, and medication administration. The duties include, but are not limited to first aid, medication administration, asthma, allergy, diabetes, seizure management, covid-19, and flu screening and testing. Employees in this position are responsible for performing delegated activities in compliance with procedures, protocols, and documented care plans.
Essential Functions:
Perform delegated Registered Nurse (RN) functions upon completion of training and competency testing.
Consults and engages the Registered Nurse for direction on non-delegated tasks.
Administers medications to students prescribed by a licensed health care provider with parental consent following established protocols and care plans.
Properly receives, handles, and stores medications; maintains temperature logs; manages medication expiration.
Provides first aid and injury care to students with urgent health needs according to procedures and protocols upon completion of training and competency testing.
Assist students with diabetes management upon completion of training and competency testing.
Assist students with allergy, asthma, and seizure management upon completion of training and competency testing.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge of infection control measures. Maintain infection control and use of PPE as directed per School Health guidelines.
Administers COVID-19and FLU tests with Parent/Guardian documented consent, upon the completion of training and competency testing.
Floating to other school locations to supplement and assist Registered Nurses or perform duties at another school location as needed.
Documents in the student electronic health files, care, treatments, and observations documents as directed.
Maintains proper filing of documentation.
Reviews and updates student electronic health files, forwarding them to appropriate destinations when students transfer to another school within the district. Can navigate electronic student health system being proficient with a standard computer and keyboard including but not limited to software programs. Measures/takes vital signs, blood pressure, and related data as defined in the physician order and documents.
Reports all problems when observed to the Registered Nurse. Completes additional duties as assigned.
Additional Duties:
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that including working in Red Cross shelters or performing other emergency duties including but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
Access to reliable transportation required.

First Aid Certification from either American Red Cross or the American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire and will be offered on-site.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the State of Florida required. For Medical Assistants (MA), certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT preferred.
