Medical assistants perform routine clinical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of a physician or other health care professional. Medical assistants perform many administrative duties, including answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patients medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handling billing and book keeping. Medication Aide (WA) The Medication Aide helps create a joyful & vibrant community by caring for residents and administering and/or assisting with the self-administration of routine and non-routine and non-injectable medications by oral, rectal, or topical means in accordance with physician orders and nursing practices as directed by the Director of Nursing Services. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES Performs various tasks assigned by the Director of Nursing Services including vital signs, residents' weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, as well as lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention as directed by the Director of Nursing where State Nursing Regulations authorize such delegation. Maintains accurate record of medications and treatments administered or omitted on each resident's clinical record to include the reason medication was omitted or prn medication was given.
