Per Diem/Day Shift - No nights, weekends and/or holiday scheduling.
Support and assist in the coordination of Pharmacy Services activities including preparation of sterile compounds both hazardous and non-hazardous using aseptic technique, compounding pharmacy maintenance and scheduled cleanings, inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies, ordering, stocking and receiving of medications and supplies, processes specialty orders, and maintains and stocks automated dispensing machine (ADM) where applicable. Job responsibility consists primarily of preparation of hazardous agents such as chemotherapy, anti-neoplastics, biological and hormone agents including investigational research drugs. Proficient in USP regulatory 797 and 800 standards in the maintenance of the IV room. Must be diligent in record keeping of drug compounding and waste records and adherence to storage and disposal of all medical infusion pharmaceuticals and supplies. Aligns drug and supply inventory to ensure clinic-specific needs are met through reviewing clinic schedule and patient treatments.

Required Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or GED
Upon hire: OregonCertifiedOregon Pharmacy TechnicianOR
Upon hire: Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
Minimum of 3 years (> 6240 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience and PTCB certification, OR
4 years (> 8320 hours) experience if technician does not have PTCB certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Pharmacy technician program
Coursework/Training: Sterile compounding (and hazardous drug) coursework
PTCB (may be required where applicable by state)
PTCB certificate in Hazardous Drug Management
Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state
Oncology experience, hospital work experience base.

Position Highlights:

What You'll Do:
Enters patient data in the system including patient name, insurance, allergies, doctor and diagnosis. Enters the prescription in the system, selecting the brand, product/drug, and appropriate strength to align with the instructions given by the prescribing Provider.
Fills or dispenses the product from the pharmacy stock and delivers to patient.
Processes prescription refills verifying refill availability.
Maintains awareness of stock level and enters order for restocking based on defined minimum inventory levels. Verifies quantity and submits order to the Wholesaler.
Verifies product orders received with invoice and purchase order. Places a sticker on each item and places on the shelf.
Monitors and checks expiration dates on drugs in stock and prepares expired stock for return to Wholesaler. Processes credit invoices associated with the returns.
Returns or discards dispensed prescription to stock if not picked up by patient in 30 days. Enters information in the system for reverse billing.
Completes third party billing form and contacts Provider if prior authorization is required.
Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and YVFWC requirements.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
One year's experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
Pharmacy Technician license for states of practice. Alternatively, may have an active Pharmacy Intern License for the states of practice.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 9.
Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities
Support pharmacological services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications.
Maintain accurate records by recording and filing prescriptions and provider orders.
Sort, stock, and label medications while monitoring and managing inventory levels.
Respond to patient and provider inquiries; refer clinical questions to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
Accurately process electronic prescriptions and ensure completeness of patient information.

Comply with all regulatory requirements and internal procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and sterile pharmacy environment.
Participate in team meetings, pharmacy projects, and process improvement initiatives.

Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, administrative support, or a patient-facing healthcare role required.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license preferred,
Skills:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process and fill prescriptions.
Excellent communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and effective interaction with pharmacists, physicians, and nurses.
Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, stock supplies, and maintain a well-organized workspace.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to support the operation of the Pharmacy Services by performing sterile compounding under supervision of the Pharmacist; operating and maintaining sterile compounding environment; preparing deliveries to patients; and participating in Quality Control and Quality Improvement activities. The majority of time on the shift is spent performing sterile compounding or supporting activities.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Two years pharmacy tech experience required. Sterile Compounding experience preferred. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

Licensure
Current applicable state Pharmacy Technician Licensure required prior to date of hire and maintained thereafter. Sterile compounding certification as provided by Legacy is required within 3 months of hire and to be maintained per applicable Guidelines.
