Job Description Title: Working Leaderman (Structural) Job Overview: A Working Leaderman (Structural) is responsible for directing his/her workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions. Key Responsibilities: Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process. Performs tank testing and associated duties as required. Experience: At least Five (5) years of assembly/prefab structural welding/fitting experience. Prior supervision experience is preferred. Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of welding/fitting specific processes and techniques in addition to being familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction. Experience in structural fabrication and the ability to read/understand drawings is required. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, work well with others, and have the ability to plan/schedule craft-specific work tasks. Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed.
