* Monitors the operation of the utility transmission and distribution system to ensure that systems operate in the most efficient and safe manner possible during routine and emergency conditions, monitors security cameras at utility locations for security purposes.
* Monitors the distribution system telemetered data for all utilities; analyzes data related to system conditions and takes appropriate action to maintain or restore normal system conditions on both the water and wastewater systems.
* Answers incoming telephone calls to the Control Center; prioritizes calls to determine if they are emergency or non-emergency and the extent and type of assistance needed; follows up with customers to ensure that work completed was satisfactory, noting any problems and/or issues.
* Monitors and coordinates the operation of the GUS mobile radio system.
* Collects and maintains daily system operational records; collects information and completes required reports.
* Reviews and coordinates scheduled outages on the water and wastewater systems.
* Utilizes the Outage Management System to identify, locate and analyze customer outages on the distribution system.
* Coordinates confined space entries, issues confined space permits, and radioing during confined space events.
* Prepares and implements contingency plans for emergency situations, up to and including total system restoration.
* Provides utility meter change-out information to the utility billing office.
* Monitors police and fire radio communication for calls that may involve Georgetown Utility Systems and utilizes this information when prioritizing work orders.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
Two (2) years of full-time experience in utility system operations. OR Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
One (1) additional year of full-time experience may be substituted for one (1) year (30 semester hours) of the required education, with a maximum substitution of two (2) years.
Knowledge of:
* SCADA operation.
* Water distribution and wastewater collection system operations.
* Emergency operations.
Skill in:
* Reading and understanding one-line diagrams.
* Operating a multi-line phone system, computers, and two-way radios.
* Typing 40 words per minute.
* Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Texas driver's license required. Out-of-state license holders must have a valid license and provide a three-year driving history.
Trainee
Must be able to complete the 6-month qualifications in the manual provided by the deadline.
Operator
Class D Distribution License and Class I Collections from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality or must obtain a license within one (1) year of hire and complete the required learning in your qualification manual that was provided.
Senior
Class B Water Distribution License and Collection 2 or Class C Water Distribution and Class 3 Wastewater License and complete the required learning in your qualification manual that was provided.

The City Attorney will sponsor the hired applicant for their State Bar of Texas Supervised Practice Card.
General Municipal Law Practice. This includes real estate, contracts, employment and other general law areas. The law clerk may assist in title review, preparation of deeds and related real estate documents, organization of documents for various transactions, proofreading of contracts, and researching legal issues related to these matters.
Prosecution. The law clerk may assist the City Attorney's Office in municipal court prosecution of Class C misdemeanors. Work may include preparation and review of complaints, assisting in processing plea bargains and similar matters, and conducting legal research. Criminal cases prosecuted include traffic laws, City ordinance violations, DOC noise complaints, dangerous dogs, and class C assaults.

Internship: This position is a paid, full-time, limited term assignment at our Austin, TX headquarters that offers interns the opportunity to gain substantive hands on experience. Interns enjoy the opportunity to get training and mentoring from experienced professionals in one or more areas. Interns may also be eligible to continue working part-time through the fall and spring semesters, depending on department and agency needs.
The Health Clinical Operations Student Intern will help support the clinical and health plan operations. The incumbent will perform entry level project work related to their field of study and assist with health, medical, and pharmaceutical analysis to support clinical impact, assist with review of plan benefits and rate, and support agency operations with a primary focus on gaining practical work experience and business skills for personal development or to satisfy educational requirements. This position will proactively work with the Health Clinical team, Health staff, and agency employees.
This position will start on June 4th 2026 and will end on August 7th 2026.
Salary will be dependent upon education level:
Graduate Student - $21.00/hour
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Health Medical & Pharmaceutical Analysis
* Assists with reviewing business problems with clinical impact.
* Assists in researching medications such as GLP-1s, inflammatory conditions and similar areas.
* Assists in reviewing plan benefits and rates to ensure accuracy.
* Assists with monitoring of health plan deliverables.
General Functions
* May review forms, correspondence, reports, and other documents for completeness and acceptability
* May assist in reviewing and analyzing agency policies, procedures, and forms and recommending changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Assists in completing special projects and performs other work as assigned.
Performs related work as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Required Education
* Currently enrolled as a graduate student (Master or Doctoral) in biology, health sciences, chemistry, or a related program. OR;
* Currently enrolled in an accredited program leading to licensure or certification as a:
* Nurse Practitioner (NP)
* Physician Assistant (PA)
* Pharmacist (PharmD or equivalent)
* Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
* Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
* Applicant will be required to submit a copy of official college transcripts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Repairs water and wastewater lines; cleans and inspects pipes; installs repair parts and evaluates effectiveness of repair.
Installs water and wastewater infrastructure including, but not limited to, mains, services, and laterals; taps and meters; valves; manholes; air relief valves; fire hydrants; cleanouts, etc.
Assists in excavation; operates air hammer to break rock and asphalt; uses pick and shovel to remove dirt and rock from excavations; uses probe to locate pipes.
Cleans wastewater lines; uses hand and / or machine rods to unclog or clean mains & laterals.
Performs line locates of water and wastewater infrastructure in accordance with Texas One Call laws.
Cleans & maintains tools and equipment.
Drives various trucks, primarily dump trucks, to haul material related to the repair and installation of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Loads, unloads, and operates dump trucks and other heavy equipment.
Installs traffic control in strict accordance with state and federal manuals of traffic control devices.
Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
