The Laboratory Technician will handle samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' analytical SOPs. The Laboratory Technician works independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. Job Functions After appropriate training, independently prepares client samples according to SGS' SOPs, using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies. Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of preparation instruments/equipment. May assist with validation and MDL studies. Inputs and maintains technical information, as needed, to support the laboratory functions/operations. May conduct non-interpretive sample analysis and draft analytical reports. Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable. Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures. Performs all required quality verifications, ensuring best quality. Monitors inventory levels of chemicals and consumables, ensuring appropriate levels, at all times. Ensures all chemicals are labelled appropriately, required personal protective equipment is worn consistently, and all safety precautions are followed. Performs other duties as required.
