OPTION 1
* Completion of 24 semester units of course work in early childhood education or child development, including at least one three-semester unit (or four-quarter unit) course in each of the following areas: child/human growth and development; child, family, and community, or child and family relations; and programs/curriculum.
* Complete 16 semester units in general education, including at least one course in each of the following areas: humanities and/or fine arts, social sciences, math and/or science, and English and/or language arts.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience
● (2) years' experience as Lab Technician/Assistant.
● Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or a related science field
● 1 year of experience working in a biology/biotechnology laboratory setting.
● Knowledge of OSHA and related laboratory safety guidelines is required.
● Prior teaching experience as a high school teacher or college professor is preferred; graduate teaching assistantship experience is encouraged to apply.
● Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, and experience with laboratory equipment and techniques.
High-standard of “Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)” in a lab environment.
Essential biotechnology labs skills required: Pipetting, Solution Preparation, Basic microbiology techniques, DNA/RNA extraction, Gel Electrophoresis, Restriction digest, Molecular Cloning, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and Bacterial Transformation.
Ability to communicate technical information explicitly, troubleshoot and conduct quality control.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize, and handle multiple and changing projects and priorities.
Able to communicate positively and effectively with school administrators, teachers, students, and LA Promise Fund staff.
Ability to work with limited supervision as well as in a collaborative team setting.
The employee's sensory modalities (vision, hearing, smell) and physical capabilities must be sufficient to independently perform duties/functions.
Able to work a flexible schedule, as needed by the program, including occasional after-hours and weekends.
Flexible and adaptable individual willing to learn new systems and approaches as technology and platforms change.
Able to analyze and formulate disparate information into a sound, well- organized plan.

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company s mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
Qualifications:
Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
