Your Opportunity as a Packaging Intern
As an intern within our Packaging department, you will leverage the state-of-the-art packaging lab to enable data-based decision making through the use of a variety of test methods. You will contribute to packaging sustainability goals by implementing source reduction/cost reduction on a variety of materials. Collaborate with internal business partners such as Marketing, Procurement, Operations and Creative to enable meaningful packaging improvements visible on store shelves and in the pantry of Consumers.
You will also have the opportunity to improve your technical expertise by completing projects with one of our many manufacturing plants.

Work Schedule: We are looking for students who are available for 6-8 months (from Jan - Aug or May - December), but are open to students who are available for a 3-month summer internship (May - August). Please indicate your availability on the application.
In this role you will:
Collaborate with external supply base to bring your ideas to life by identifying structure improvements while evaluating the impact on sustainability, production line efficiency and material cost.
Support ongoing material evaluation activities, including data collection and statistical analysis for a variety of packaging types (e.g. rigid containers, closures, flexible films, cartons and corrugated).
Complete a variety of packaging test methods and subsequent documentation such as Vibration, Drop, Side Impact, Compression, Tensile and Burst Tests.
Maintain technical documentation, including How2Recycle database, pallet patterns, technical drawings and assembly instructions.
Support production line assessments of alternative packaging solutions
Examples of Projects:
Size and test primary and secondary packaging components for new products
Evaluate sustainable packaging material options
Paperboard tray redesign (optimization)
Label substrate change
Portion control sealing optimization
Warehouse Pallet Stacking Optimization

Revive Environmental Technology, LLC ("Revive") is a mission-driven environmental technology company focused on delivering rapid, permanent solutions for PFAS and other persistent environmental contaminants. Our flagship PFAS Annihilator systems are built on patented supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology and are setting a new standard in liquid waste destruction, including PFAS-laden AFFF concentrates and complex organic waste streams.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer Intern or Co-Op to further develop and scale our PFAS Annihilator SCWO technology. The position is based in Columbus, OH. The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer. How an internship or Co-Op would be different with Revive than other companies is we give real world challenges to solve to each team member, interns and Co-Ops included. Your work would be on a project that has meaningful contribution to Revive as a growing young company, and the learning opportunities are fast paced and mission critical.
Key Responsibilities for your projects could be:
Lead the process design and scale-up of Revive's PFAS Annihilator system. This could include development and optimization of PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, and performing mass and energy balances, etc.
Drive continuous improvement of SCWO reactor and salt separation subsystems to enhance throughput, minimize fouling, extend service intervals, and improve overall system availability.
Provide engineering support to field operations by resolving emergent technical challenges across the fleet; conduct root-cause analyses and implement durable corrective actions in collaboration with site teams.
Specify, size, and select process equipment including high-pressure pumps, heat exchangers, valves, blowdown systems, and instrumentation with a focus on SCWO service conditions and corrosive fluid handling.
Support and participate in process safety activities such as HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety reviews for system modifications, commissioning, and new deployments.
Partner with fabrication and commissioning teams to validate system designs, resolve field integration issues, and accelerate the implementation of design upgrades.
Analyze operational data from commercial and demonstration units to extract performance trends, identify bottlenecks, and guide engineering decisions and future designs.
Contribute to Revive's technical knowledge base by developing and documenting process improvements, system modifications, and standardized design modules for future deployments.
Required Qualifications
Prior coursework with a "B" or better in Mass, Heat, and Energy balance and Separation technology.
Knowledge and/or experience in process engineering design.
Strong safety record and mindset.
Excellent problem-solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
GPA of a 3.0 or better
Preferred Qualifications
Prior coursework with a "B" or better grade in Thermodynamics and Kinetics
Industrial experience.
Familiarity with PFAS chemistry.
