A day in the life
Hardware engineers within AWS Board Core Design & Services team could be working in a variety of areas, few examples would be: hardware design and development; building the systems that validate hardware quality in manufacturing; monitoring and improving hardware reliability in data centers and platform. As the end to end owner of a complex server fleet, our team works closely with partners to root cause failures and drive changes back into our current & future designs. As a member of the AWS Hardware Engineering organization, you will apply your technical experience and work with other subject matter experts in core component development, compute server development, networking development, custom hypervisor/virtualization development and other teams. You will lead cross functional investigations and define changes needed to deliver results and will have direct exposure to internal and external AWS customers. As a Field Robotics Engineer at Carbon Robotics you are responsible for ensuring customer success via successful implementation and support of Carbon Robotics Equipment. Position Overview:
The Electrical Supervisor works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product and support daily productions activities. This is a supervisory position, which would include the daily supervision of plant electricians as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations and equipment installation.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, the Electrical Supervisors responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial plant setting
Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles
Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective action
Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
Plans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed
Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees
Supports and encourages employees to work safely, efficiently and effectively
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's level new graduate in Engineering or equivalent discipline with two or more related co-op or internship work assignment in a manufacturing setting would be an alternate for the 5-7 years of work experience.
Three to five years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
At least two years of proven supervisory experience
Working knowledge of motor controls, VFD's, and DC drives.
Installation, set-up and programming of PLC's
Ability to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD software
Process control systems - set-up and program applications (Honeywell)
Instrumentation and calibration knowledge
Facility power distribution
Knowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling)
Knowledge of control systems and sub-systems

Seattle City Light's Generation Electrical Engineering Section is seeking two high performing, licensed Professional Electrical Engineers, from any state, to join our team. We have a great variety of interesting and challenging projects to work on and are pleased to advertise these positions. If you're bringing your PE from another state, you will have one year to obtain your Washington State PE by exam or comity. One of our positions is located in Newhalem, Washington. As the selected engineer, you will report to Newhalem, Washington and be assigned to support the day-to-day operations of the three power plants of the Skagit Hydroelectric Project. The Skagit project is in the North Cascades National Park and you will have the option to live in the company town of Newhalem depending on available space.
Our other position is located in downtown Seattle. As the selected engineer, you will report to Seattle Municipal Tower. With both positions, in addition to day-to-day support, you will be assigned capital projects to design and work collaboratively with field crews to install and test new equipment related to their design. We are interested in individuals with a positive attitude, good people skills and broad experience working on hydroelectric generation facilities.
