Job Description Fluent in Siemens CNC, Profinet, Ethernet, AB ControlLogix, and FTView. This individual will be a highly motivated and self-disciplined individual, responsible for program/project execution and plant floor production support of machine control, vision systems, and CNC systems. This individual will work in a manufacturing environment where a considerable amount of independent problem solving, creativity, and initiative is needed. Responsible for: • Electrical/Controls specification and design of both hardware and software, program, installation support, debug, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and tools. • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources. • Providing technical direction to and informal training to machine operators and service personnel. • Updating and maintaining controls documentation for new and existing manufacturing equipment and tools. • Providing technical support and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and tools. Basic Required: • 5+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer • Strong technical knowledge of electrical/control systems and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment. • Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine design. Knowledge of process requirements for a manufacturing system is desired. • Ability to specify, estimate, design and program controls hardware/software, integrate, install, commission, and create electrical/controls documentation for manufacturing equipment. • Experienced in Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI design and programming. • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, EthernetIP, Devicenet, Remote I/O, DH+, DH485, RS232, etc. • Experienced in Fanuc CNC systems • Experienced in Siemens Step 7 and 840D system • Knowledge of servo motors, servo motion control, and variable frequency drives. • Ability to design and troubleshoot electrical controls systems. • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging projects and assignments, and changing priorities with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results. • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and common application such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. • Experience creating electrical designs and panel layouts in AutoCad or AutoCad Electrical. • Demonstrates initiative by identifying opportunities to improve production throughput in areas of responsibility. • Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Ability to effectively communicate, and express ideas and concerns to all persons with candor and respect. • Some travel to equipment suppliers may be required.
