Performs professional assessment, intake, case planning, supervision, casework, and rehabilitation activities to help juvenile or adult clients be successful in maintaining compliance with court orders and supervision goals within the Department of Corrections.
Client Supervision
* Complete an accurate and thorough assessment on each assigned client, and develop a comprehensive and effective written case plan that targets the client's criminogenic needs.
* Assist all assigned clients in following their terms and conditions of supervision and their individual case/program plan by interacting with them at home, work, school, treatment and facilities.
* Incorporate evidence-based practices, including motivational interviewing, cognitive skills, and use of graduated responses.
* Conduct drug/alcohol screenings on clients through urinalysis and/or breathalyzer testing.
* Perform screening with metal detectors to prevent weapons from entering the workplace.
* Perform searches of personal property, homes, and vehicles.
* Provide job seeking information and techniques, identify appropriate job possibilities, communicate with employers, and assist clients in securing, approving, and verifying employment.
* Conduct and facilitate behavioral cognitive groups as assigned.
* Assist law enforcement officers to serve arrest warrants.
Case Management
* Secure available staff and community resources to meet client needs.
* Perform liaison duties in coordinating client's involvement with outside referral agencies to access health care, treatment, housing, and any other necessary community services.
* Monitor client participation in case/program plan activities by making contacts with providers, employers, family members, and other professionals, as appropriate.
* Report client's progress and all alleged violations of supervision to the court as necessary, including verbal and written reports and hearing reviews.
* Participate in court hearings, prepares court reports, make recommendations, and present information to the Judge, District Attorney, and defense attorney.
Records Maintenance
* Create and maintain an individual file on each client ensuring all legal documents, reports, social documents, chronological and statistical reports, etc. are present and updated per policy.
* Complete all data entry into the required database within prescribed timeframes.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field. Transcript verifying education credits is required. One year experience in probation, parole, social work, counseling or related work with juvenile and/or adult offenders. Professional references are required to verify the related work experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Personal vehicle for use when county vehicle is not available (employee reimbursement is provided by County). Pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screenings. Must also meet the required conditions contained in KSA 65-516 and KAR 28-4-356.

How You Will Make an Impact
Perform inmate head counts, cell checks, and searches. Monitor, log, and supervise inmate movement, recreation, visitations, cleaning, laundry, and security checks. Receive and release inmates by completing paperwork, fingerprinting, photographing, data entry, and conducting checks for outstanding warrants, protection orders, etc. Log and manage inmate property, money, and supplies. Exercise appropriate use of force and self-defense tactics to restrain disorderly inmates and deescalate volatile situations. Operate and maintain radios, telephones, and other communication equipment. Operate doors and intercoms and perform security checks of the perimeter, buildings, and grounds. Answer phones and assist callers with questions and concerns. Answer inmate questions and concerns and assist inmates with paperwork as necessary. Prepare and complete reports.

It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

This would include documentation of case activities, consumer-based assessments, abuse/neglect/exploitation investigations, findings and required notices, adult service plan, and information gathered during the investigation. Must maintain law enforcement training requirements as required by Kansas Statute 74-5607a(b).

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Skate Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all visitors at the ice rink and will play a crucial role in maintaining a fun and safe environment for guests of all ages and skill levels.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Actively monitor the ice and remind skaters to follow all safety guidelines and rink rules
Address any unsafe behavior by skaters
Assist skaters including beginners requiring guidance or individuals who have fallen and need assistance getting up
Educate skaters about rink rules and encourage compliance to maintain a safe environment
Assist skaters in the use of appropriate gear such as helmets and skates
Respond to and notify management of any incidents, accidents, injuries, and altercations
Provide basic first aid in case of minor injuries
Alert management and assist with emergency situations as needed
Assist with special events, including set-up, monitoring, and clean-up as required
Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and staff
Be knowledgeable about the facility, prices, services, promotions, and events
Know and enforce the facility's policies, procedures, and rules
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the ice and surrounding area
Report any maintenance issues to the management team
