BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to enforce federal, state and local laws and provide protection to citizens. This is accomplished by responding to general and critical incidents to investigate and enforce violations, patrolling geographical limits, responding to crime scenes, processing information; and identifying, restraining and/or transporting suspects. Additional duties include answering questions from the public, testifying in court, assisting other officers and departments, educating the public, and preparing and maintaining reports and logs.

The Security Officer III performs highly complex (senior-level) security services work. The Security Officer III is the most senior Security Officer and supports the Security Supervisor with department goals and objectives. Work involves patrolling grounds; conducting initial investigations as needed; providing direction and/or assistance to patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities also include temporary switchboard duties such as answering the hospital telephone switchboard as needed, the fire alarm system, and emergency response phone line.
Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Patrol's hospital grounds to monitor and mitigate unusual occurrences such as trespassers, vandalism, and emergencies.

Provides security to the hospital campus. Opens hospital gates as appropriate. Provides direction and assistance to visitors. Patrols grounds, inspecting and safeguarding buildings, properties, and equipment. Writes reports and documents incidents or events in and around the hospital grounds. Downloads video requests from the Rights Protection department.
Performs temporary switchboard duties as requested. Answers phone and calls from service via dispatch (switchboard) as needed, the fire alarm system, and emergency response phone line.
Checks points of ingress and egress, to assist in the prevention of unauthorized departures/escapes. Investigates and documents unusual incidents such as thefts, fire, vehicle accidents, unauthorized departures, and weather-related events.
During the absence of the Security Supervisor, performs administrative duties such as preparing the department schedule and reviewing reports. Represents the security department in meetings and events at the direction of the Security Supervisor or Directors.
Reports to areas when fire alarms sound, determines the nature of the emergency and resets alarm as needed. During an actual fire emergency, escorts the fire department to facilitate access and mitigation of impact to hospital, staff, and patients.
Provides crisis intervention, when necessary, assists staff with controlling disruptive or combative patients or guests, and escorts disruptive people off hospital grounds.
Operates State vehicles to transport patients, employees, and visitors on or off the hospital grounds.
Maintains inspection forms to ensure preventive maintenance and the safe operation of vehicles.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:
Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date to drive a state vehicle. Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy.
Current CPR/AED certification preferred, willingness to be certified within 6 months required.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Five years or more continuous work experience in law enforcement, security or corrections required OR
Three years or more security experience in a mental health facility required.
Additional Information:
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aid, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct, List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Males between the ages of 18-25 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours.

Officers are required to carry and monitor district issued radio for communication with campus administrators.

Officers are required to complete a daily activity log and complete all incidents on district owned report writing database and refer students to teen court and juvenile detention as needed.

As an Assets Protection Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day most likely will include the following responsibilities:
* Support total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available to our guests. Welcome and engage guests at the front of the store and on the salesfloor.

* Initiate, investigate and resolve internal investigations as directed by AP leader in your market and/or your leader.
* Educate store leadership on merchandise protection best practice and audit execution in partnership with key partners.
* Implement and follow up on any operational changes as directed by your leader.
* Support your leader to educate and support store teams on operational shortage priorities.
* Order merchandise protection devices as needed to support the minimum standards for your store. Review and manage the allocated budget and adhere to the guidance in the Merchandise Protection Best Practice on Workbench.
* Communicate AP priorities to the team, peers and leadership.
* Build a relationship of trust and accountability with your leader and Store Director.
* Maintain relationships inside and outside Target, including district and store leaders and law enforcement.

It is the primary responsibility of the Surveillance Operator to protect the integrity of all Table Games, Slot Machines, Cashier Cage, Count Rooms, ATM/Kiosk areas, Point of Sales (POS), currency escorts, and other related gaming areas. The Surveillance Operator will observe, report, and maintain required video evidence in order to safeguard the Comanche Nation Entertainment from any fraudulent tort or prize claims.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are major duties and are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.
* Observe and report all activities of guests and employees throughout the casino.
* Detect any procedural violations, potential cheating, or suspicious activity that may be a threat to CNE.
* Protect company assets and gaming integrity through the consistent and thorough monitoring and reporting of all activities on the property, particularly on the gaming floor.
* Communicate by radio transmissions pertinent to operations and relevant Surveillance activity in accordance with the Comanche Nation Casinos Radio Communication guidelines and proper radio etiquette procedures in a professional and courteous manner.
* Write Incident Reports, Procedure Violations, Daily Activity logs, Table Games Log, and Title 31 SARCs during shift and submit to the appropriate staff via email.
* Utilize necessary equipment to identify, record, document, and report illegal, suspicious, or unusual activities occurring on the property.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to work in an enclosed are with cool temperatures and low lighting. Must be available to work any hours and/or shift, including nights, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts, as assigned and/or according to business needs. The workplace is also under constant surveillance both inside and outside the facility. Must be able to operate in a mentally and physically stressful environment.
The Surveillance Operator may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve contentious issues with difficult guests and staff members. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable on company's policy.

The Security Officer performs complex (journey-level) security work and is responsible for maintaining a secure and protective environment at the state hospital by observing, taking action, and reporting incidents or security violations involving the patients and initiating emergency response as appropriate. Primary work involves monitoring alarms and surveillance cameras, patrolling the buildings and grounds, checking badges or proper identification at the campus gate, and handling after-hours emergency calls that would enhance the safety of state hospital patients, employees, and visitors. The Security Officer disseminates and coordinates emergency responses and information, and notifies facility management and law enforcement if appropriate, in the event of emergency and/or security violation situations. The Security Officer is responsible for identifying unfamiliar persons on campus and within the units as captured on surveillance cameras and during routine patrols. Ensures appropriate lighting for the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Completion of work requires the use of established methods and/or techniques and decisions are varied but based on well-defined guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Handles the dissemination and coordination of emergency responses and information, and notification to hospital management and law enforcement personnel, if appropriate, in the event of emergency and/or security violation situations.
Assists in the apprehension of suspects, where reasonably possible, in cases of unauthorized entry into buildings and work areas, malicious mischief, or other violations.
Prepares timely and accurate incident reports and other investigative reports relative to emergencies and/or security violations.
Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes to security regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:
Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date to drive a state vehicle. Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy.
CPR certified or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Twenty-four (24) months' work experience.
Two years of work experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
Additional Information:
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aid, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct, List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Males between the ages of 18-25 must be registered with the Selective Service.
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment at a state-operated facility. Waco Center for Youth applicants must be 21 years of age.
Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours.

These positions are critical to maintaining facility security and ensuring proper emergency response protocols are followed. This role requires individuals who can maintain vigilance, demonstrate sound judgment, and respond effectively to various security scenarios.
Security personnel will work in 12-hour rotations with a 15-minute overlap to ensure proper turnover between shifts. No security employee will remain on duty longer than 13 hours at a time and will have a minimum of 10 hours between shifts. Staff must be in uniform and recognizable as guards. Guards must wear KABS approved uniforms with company livery on it at all times when on government site.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:The Unarmed Security Guards/Entry Control Specialist will serve as important members of the KABS team, providing 24/5 security guard and response capabilities. Core responsibilities include:
Staff the IHS center for the facility on a 24/5 basis through 12 hour rotating shifts
Monitor all life safety and security systems including alarms, access control, and CCTV cameras
Provide notification of incidents to emergency first responders and authorized IHS staff
Staff access control points and reception desks to manage facility entry
Respond promptly to fire, security, and maintenance alarms
Conduct interior patrols of the building and monitor exterior areas including parking facilities via CCTV
Perform exterior patrols when CCTV coverage is inadequate or inoperable
Control personnel access and manage visitor protocols including operation of fixed and/or portable barriers
Dispatch security personnel as required to address security concerns
Maintain detailed security logs and documentation of incidents
Administer and maintain security databases
Perform other administrative duties within the security office as assigned
Education and Experience:Required:
Must be physically capable of performing security duties which include doing walking rounds of the hospital campus.
Completion of CLEET training required
Must be able to take direction and be on time for shift changes.
Prior unarmed security experience staffing/operating access points
Experience with electronic security systems and CCTV monitoring
