Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: * Flexibility to adjust shift with advanced notice to meet the needs of the institution. * Performs custodial duties including general and deep cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, floors, student housing units & residential common areas, offices, and common areas using hand tools, custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals. * Unlock and lock doors, turn off lights, and secure campus buildings/rooms. * Stocks and inventories supplies, which may require the operation of campus vehicles. * Identifies, reports and takes corrective action to resolve maintenance problems. * Improves work methods, knowledge of equipment, supplies, and safety through participation in training sessions with supervisors. * Moves furniture and equipment, arranges tables and chairs for special events. * Cleans interior and exterior windows, which may include use of a tucker pole, scrubbers, squeegees, and other window cleaning equipment. * Empties garbage, recycling and compost, and supports campus sustainability efforts. * Completes minor repairs to custodial equipment, changing bags, bulbs, belts, etc. * Follow recommended safety procedures and attend safety trainings. * Requires punctual and regular attendance. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Valid Washington driver's license and insurability. * Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the custodial position including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking/stooping the majority of the shift, as well as ability to climb ladders. * Six months to one year experience in custodial or cleaning work. Salary Salary: * This is a full-time, classified, WFSE (Washington Federation of State Employees) represented position. Salary is Range 36, starting at Step C, $3,417.00 per month with periodic increments to $4,216.00 per month. * This position may qualify for an additional $2.50 per hour shift premium if the majority of time worked daily or weekly is between 5:00pm and 7:00am. * Forty hours is a standard full-time work week. Shift and Working Conditions: * Position's work schedule is 40 hours per week, 5 consecutive days, typically assigned a set 4:00PM to 12:30PM, Monday-Friday shift (shift and schedule may be subject to change based on college needs). Work is generally performed indoors; HVAC systems may be in set back during working hours. Outside movement in exposed weather while moving from building to building or dumping trash or recycling is a daily occurrence, plus exposure while assisting with snow removal and placement of ice melting substances.
