Our directorates related to Mission Support & Operations include Office of General Counsel, Business Services, Communications and External Engagement, Operational Systems, Communications and Information Technology, and Performance Management.
The Operational Systems Directorate (OSD) leads delivery of PNNL's 10-year, $1.2 billion campus construction portfolio- the single largest construction and modernization effort in the Laboratory's history. OSD oversees operations and facility services, maintenance, and infrastructure planning.
A team of nearly 800 staff comprise OSD, spanning in a wide range of disciplines, including craftspeople, engineers, construction professionals, technicians, scientists, administrators, and specialists. Together, they ensure that PNNL's assets, services, and OSD-led programs are managed and performing safely, securely, reliably, effectively, and efficiently.
The directorate stewards more than $250 million in annual budget authority; managing more than 2.5 million square feet of facility space across two campuses; overseeing approximately 200 regulatory program areas; and executing a multi-million-dollar facility and infrastructure project portfolio.
The mission of the Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) Division is to minimize risks, assure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental stewardship.
EHS&S focuses on reducing environmental impact, promoting employee health, preventing workplace incidents, and safeguarding physical and information security. Core functions include risk assessment, safety training, environmental stewardship, health monitoring, emergency preparedness, and implementing security measures. EHS&S fosters a culture of safety, maintainability, and continuous improvement, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term organizational resilience.
Responsibilities
Serves as a technical expert in the management of assets (property, chemicals, biological materials, radioactive materials, etc.) and wastes at the Laboratory. The overall objective of this position is to provide secure, compliant and efficient leadership in asset lifecycle and waste management as well as packaging and transportation of hazardous materials. This position is responsible for providing oversight to ensure facility and project compliance with statutes, regulations, and policies. Position can represent the Laboratory during inspections from outside agencies such as the Dept. of Ecology, EPA and USDOT.
Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Identifies improvement/efficiency opportunities in area were assigned as Subject Matter Expert (SME).
This position will have the following key responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Provide research and maintenance staff with a point of contact and conduit to answer and resolve questions and concerns related to the responsible disciplines.
Materials and Waste Management
* Manage waste storage areas (90-day, SAA, radioactive) proactively, independently, and compliantly.
* Be cognizant of chemical, biological and radioactive material inventories, customer needs, and all business and operations systems/requirements, including the understanding of facility operating boundaries and managing these inventories within acceptable limits.
* rack, monitor, reconcile, and report inventory status and trends with recommendations for action including performance metrics management.
* Coordinate materials acquisition, unwanted inventory disposition, including transfer/sharing.
* Serve as the material balance area custodian for nuclear material inventories.
Environmental Management
* Perform drinking and waste water sampling, equipment calibrations and ordering supplies.
Property Management
* Identify, tag and track inventory status of PNNL personal property.
Coordinate annual Wall-to-Wall asset inventory to effectively manage property.
Facility Operations
* Perform and/or schedule for calibrations on several pieces of equipment.
* Provide safety oversight of contractor work.
* Function as a member of the Building Emergency Response Organization as the Chemical Hazards Assessor and participate in emergency activities and drills.
Transportation
* Perform Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Shipping responsibilities and assist staff when shipping radioactive and non-radioactive materials via ground, air or water.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
* MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
* Experience handling, packaging, labeling, and transporting hazardous or regulated waste, including spill response.
* Experience performing environmental field work in laboratory, industrial, or facilities environments.
* Experience posting and managing waste accumulation areas in accordance with state and federal regulations.
* Experience with excess property or surplus material management.
* Working knowledge of environmental, safety, and waste regulations (e.g., RCRA, EPA, OSHA).
* Completion of hazardous materials or waste operations training (e.g., RCRA, HAZWOPER).
Additional Information
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
A security clearance background investigation includes review of your employment, education, financial, and criminal history, as well as interviews with you and your personal references, neighbors, and co-workers to determine trustworthiness, reliability, and loyalty to the United States. The investigation also examines your foreign connections, drug and alcohol use, foreign influence, and overall conduct.

* Individual intake and customer-centered planning: conduct interviews and assessments to determine veterans' interests, skills, barriers, and service options; develop Individual Employment Service Plans and Reemployment Services Summaries in accordance with Title 38.
* Intensive case management for veterans with barriers using the DVOP model: perform detailed assessments, set short- and long-term goals, coordinate referrals to training and supportive services, administer and interpret skills and aptitude assessments, and guide veterans through training and credentialing.
* Deliver orientations, workshops, hiring events, and job fairs: design themes and marketing, coordinate logistics, recruit employers, and facilitate veteran-focused events that connect job seekers to opportunities.
* Manage employer-veteran matching and referrals: screen resumes and applications, arrange employer interviews and appointments, follow up with employers, and support placement and retention activities.
* Records and data management: maintain timely and accurate case notes, service plans, IPPs, staff expenditures, and exit outcomes; enter and update information in required data systems (WIT and other systems).
* Ongoing communication and responsiveness: provide timely customerservice by phone, email, and in person; respond to partner requests and coordinate services across agencies.
* Caseload contact standards: maintain regular contact with VR&E and DVOP customers (at least once every 14 days), document touch points, and ensure caseload documentation meets program requirements.

Required:
Option 1: One (1) year experience as a WorkSource Specialist 4 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency OR
Option 2: A Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years of relevant experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work, such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking OR a combination of education and/or relevant experience, which includes one year experience as a designated lead worker. Role Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Consumer Loan Servicing Manager/Team Leader, or their designee, the Consumer Servicing Specialist I provides superior service, assists members with inquiries, requests, and/or problems in a friendly, respectful, courteous, and professional manner. This position will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines.
What You Will Be Doing:
Process and approve loan extensions, modifications, and requests for due date changes in a timely manner.
Administer the release of perfected documents on paid-in-full loans within timeframe assigned.
Follow up on outstanding titles to ensure perfection of lien in timely manner, according to the guidelines under the federal and state laws.
Process all member requests for changes to perfected titles on file.
Prepare and process Home Equity LOC/HEIR loan payoff quotes and process the transactions and reconveyances that follow.
Facilitate the filing of all claims and all claim proceeds related to a total loss situation on all titled collateral.
Process all debt protection claims, life, disability, and involuntary unemployment per guidelines.
Research and respond to all Consumer Loan related credit disputes both electronic and Service Desk requests.
Maintain any Automated DNA applications related to consumer loan maintenance, such as CPI, SKIP and Paid Ahead loans, and work the accompanying exception reports.
Research, verify and correct (as needed) any erroneous or inaccurate loan information in the core operating system.
Maintain consumer loan accounts in our core system by reviewing daily, weekly and monthly core reports as assigned. Making any necessary corrections when issues are found.
Process and respond to Service Desk Requests in adherence to the Service Standard.
Participate in system software testing as it relates to Consumer Loan Servicing functionality as scheduled by the Consumer Loan Servicing Manager/Team Leader.
Support all internal and external members' requests for assistance in a courteous, respectful and professional manner.
Maintain current knowledge of Credit Union philosophy, products and services. Comply with all Credit Union policies and procedures regarding assignments and responsibilities.
Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities. Demonstrate compliance with all State and Federal banking regulations, including the BSA.
Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor.
