Evaluates Mammographic images for technical quality, repeats images as necessary and verifies images in PACS. Performs required post processing and/or transfers appropriate images to dedicated workstations. Ensures prior exams and reports are available for comparison. Provides correct forms/documentation and concise relevant history to the Radiologist for interpretation.
Selects correct patient and updates necessary clinical history. Enters pertinent notes relating to present exam and indicates the reason for exam/location of concern. Resolves prior examinations accurately. Indicates when shielding was utilized.
Follows universal precautions including the use of gloves, gowns and masks as appropriate. Cleans and disinfects between each patient and can perform/document high level disinfection appropriately. Consistently indicates in Magview that infection control was completed prior to the start of the exam. Keeps work area, waiting rooms and dressing rooms clean and tidy and stocks work area with laundry and medical supplies on a daily basis.
Maintains Mammography, Stereotactic and/or Bone Density Department quality control standards and updates all necessary logs. Initiates equipment service requests and notifies supervisor as necessary. Actively participates in Time Out procedures required for certain exams. Able to perform quality control tests per ACR requirements and reboot/shutdown systems per manufacturer guidelines.
Able to recognize specific psychological (ie. anxiety) and/or physical needs of patients and determine when further assistance is needed. Promptly responds to situations which require a timely response and documents relevant information on incident forms. Able to locate and use all necessary emergency equipment (code cart, oxygen, blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, etc). Able to initiate emergency response policy.

* 41. Specimen are placed in the locked specimen pick-up boxes at times when Blood Draw Stations are closed and couriers cannot enter the facilities for pick-up
