Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team of data analytics experts. The hire will be responsible for curating and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture in Databricks, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for various application teams. The Data Engineer will support our application experts, software developers, database architects, and data analysts on a Data Roadmap strategy and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. Hybrid Schedule: Minimum of working 3 day per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location.
Required Days from an Office Location: Tuesday and Wednesday - the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose.
Virtual Office: Candidates working from a remote location within approved states will be considered for those who have applicable industry experience with Databricks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse paradigms.
Design and build optimal data pipelines from a wide variety of data sources using AWS and Databricks technologies.
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing a unified data stream.
Work with other data engineering experts to strive for greater functionality while making data more discoverable, addressable, trustworthy, and secure.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Create and maintain a culture of engagement and one that is conducive of NISC's Statement of Shared Values.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
Hands-on experience developing and optimizing data pipelines and workflows using Databricks.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
Build ETL processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable data stores.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Candidate with experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. They should also have experience using the following software/tools:
Experience with AWS: Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, etc.
Experience with Databricks and Delta Lake.
Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, Postgres Cassandra, and DynamoDb.
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Hevo Data, Airflow, etc.
Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, Databricks, EMR
Experience with stream-processing systems: Apache Spark, Kafka Streams, Spring Cloud, etc.
Experience with object-oriented languages: Java, Scala.

EHS Environmental Engineer - Manufacturing
A leading manufacturing facility is seeking an Environmental Engineer to oversee and manage environmental compliance efforts across all operations, including air quality, water systems, waste management, and applicable regulatory reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations while supporting a culture of environmental stewardship within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with IDNR, EPA, and all relevant city, state, and federal environmental laws.
Manage permits for drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, and air emissions, maintaining all records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare and submit Tier II and TRI (Toxics Release Inventory) reports as needed.
Oversee proper labeling, storage, and removal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
Maintain accurate waste generation records and ensure timely waste disposal.
Update and maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system, including physical copies throughout the facility.
Conduct and document annual chemical and waste handling training for material handling staff.
Monitor and maintain indoor air quality standards, including annual air testing.
Ensure proper signage and maintenance of emission sources.
Maintain water level logs and ensure water testing is completed per permit guidelines.
Develop and sustain a facility-wide recycling program.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of generator and paint usage logs.
Review and approve new chemical purchases prior to procurement.
Deliver training on Hazard Communication and Globally Harmonized System (GHS) standards to employees.
Assist safety personnel with workplace injury response, DOT appointments, and drug testing coordination.
Conduct minor emissions inventories and assist with environmental audits.
Support Human Resources and other departments with various projects and events as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with IDNR and EPA regulations is highly desired.
Ability to obtain a Grade A Water Certification within six months of employment.

Secmation is seeking a Software Defined Radio Development Engineer with deep expertise in RF systems, military communications, and Software-Defined Radios (SDR). What You'll Do
Design, implement, and optimize embedded software for advanced RF and communications systems, with an emphasis on SDR-based platforms.
