In this role, you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track. PCTs will work in conjunction with dialysis RNs to provide dialysis care.

JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home.
This position has an evening shift from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.
May instruct patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.
Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
Maintains supply component of patient profiles.

Required

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations.
· Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
· Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre - during - post hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record, makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor or Physician as needed.
· Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family's basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family.

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment; including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
Provide instructions to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of equipment and/or respiratory care procedures via in person or electronic means (Telehealth). Ensures patients and/or caregivers can effectively operate and maintain equipment.
Performs clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.

The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home.

* Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.

* Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.

+ Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment; including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
+ Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
+ Provide instructions to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of equipment and/or respiratory care procedures via in person or electronic means (Telehealth). Ensures patients and/or caregivers can effectively operate and maintain equipment.
+ Performs clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.
+ Prepares and maintains a record for each patient containing all pertinent information, care plans, physician prescriptions and follow-up documentation.
+ Responsible for accurate data entry on monitoring websites for certain respiratory equipment.
+ Consults with referring physician regarding patient treatment, medical condition, home environment, compliance with treatment and Plan of Care.
+ Responsible for routine patient follow-up, which may occur in person and/or via Telehealth.
+ Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements; physical abuse of any family member, unsafe home environment for care ordered, unsanitary conditions or animals causing such, or insufficient food for children.
+ Respond to critical situations as appropriate, during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.

**JOB SUMMARY**
The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home.
This position has an **evening shift** from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The anticipated hourly range for this position is **$19.60 - $20.96 USD hourly.** The actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education, and location.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.
+ May instruct patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
+ Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.
+ Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
+ Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
+ Maintains supply component of patient profiles.
+ Notify supervisor if any one of the following items is discovered in the patient's home:
a) Physical abuse of any family member
b) Home environment is unsafe for the care ordered, such as unsanitary conditions or insufficient food for children
c) Animals in the home that cause unsanitary conditions
+ May clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
+ Perform routine vehicle maintenance including the checking of gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure and brakes. Report malfunctions to supervisor.

Some details about this position:
PCTs usually work 10-12 hour shifts / 3-4 days a week (including every other Saturday, closed on Sundays!). Our clinics open as early as 3:30am and close as late as 8pm. Teammates are required to have availability to open and close.
Hours of work may vary; however, you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week
You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Paid training: DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands on training.

What you can expect:
Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for approximately 4 patients at a time.
Technician Duties. Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
Continuous Improvement: We are consistently looking for ways to improve processes for our patients and teammates as we aim to build the greatest health care community the world has ever seen.
Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week.
Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb, including heavy lifting
Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when it's safe for our patients, so some flexibility is required.
Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
Health care experience preferred but not required including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
