Lodge Crew working in food service support the communal dining experience at the Mohican Outdoor Center through the service of meals and maintaining a high level of cleanliness in both the front and back of house. Lodge Crew working in housekeeping ensure that guests visiting the Mohican Outdoor Center feel at home in a clean well cared for lodge. This particular role will also receive complimentary housing to support the management team with on-call hours.
What you'll be doing at AMC
Assist guests and visitors positively.
Respond to any problems or special requests with a professional demeanor.
Interact with guests regarding local information, lodge amenities, organizational efforts, and programs.
Set up, serve, and cleanup of meal service.
Participate in the daily cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms, communal areas and bathrooms.
Prepare meeting spaces for special groups and programs, including set up of tables, chairs, and equipment, as needed.
Participate in deep cleaning of the lodge and other areas weekly/monthly or as instructed.
Help with snow shoveling and lawn/garden maintenance with push mowers and trimmers.
Retail sales and inventory management
Waterfront and boating program duties including canoe/kayak/SUP care and maintenance.
Leading bonfires on weekend evenings
Travel and support other AMC lodges/camps as assigned
Supporting the management team with on-call hours
Qualifications
What AMC is looking for:
Must be 18 years of age
Good communicator with ability to sell memberships
Experience in camp operations, hospitality and/or work outdoors is preferred.
Ability to work a varied schedule and spend nights as scheduled.
Exceptional public service skills and a commitment to the mission of the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Ability to perform general maintenance tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
Prior food service experience is preferred.
Success in performing a wide range of assigned tasks.
Must be detail oriented, well organized, highly flexible, adaptable, and resourceful.
ServSafe food handling course a plus
Carpentry and/or small engine maintenance skills are a plus
EMT certified preferred
Must have an acceptable driving record to operate AMC vehicles.
Physical abilities needed: Ability to operate standard office computers and machines, plus maintenance equipment. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds at the Lodge and in the backcountry. Ability to travel safely in the backcountry in all weather conditions.

Salary range: $16.00/ Hourly

* Ensures that all machinery and equipment is properly maintained and reports all problems and repair requests to the Custodial Project Manager/or supervisor in a timely manner.
* Ensures that self and client workers/trainees are using supplies in an efficient manner to reduce waste and cost.
* Assists the Custodial Project Manager with maintaining quality standards set by contract. May participate as a member of the quality assurance team. May participate in daily, weekly and monthly inspections. Identifies problems, takes corrective action and keeps Custodial Project Manager abreast of any potential problems. Maintains daily log as assigned.
* Performs periodic work and floor work as necessary.
* Performs all duties in a safe manner and ensures that client workers adhere to safety guidelines such as the use of caution signs when mopping, stripping and waxing floors and the prompt removal of these signs when floors are dry. Ensures that self and client workers operate all machinery and equipment in a safe and proper manner. Practices and teaches safe work methods. Always uses and ensures client workers use safety gear and equipment when working in areas that require these items.
