Determine material, construction, mechanisms, shape, color, surface finish and manufacturing processes in cooperation with Engineering and Manufacturing. Communicate design solutions to management and other team members.
Design Development & Support - Create 3-dimensional CAD models of appearance parts. Validate surface geometry with rapid prototype samples. Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that manufacturability requirements are met. Assist with product graphics. Assist the Design staff with field testing to ensure user needs have been met. Assist Design staff in preparation for meetings and presentations.
Miscellaneous - Support project leaders with project documentation. Assist with product photography. Create and submit for design competitions. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Industrial Design
Good written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Analytical problem solving and judgement
Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday

Summary/Objective:

A Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator is responsible for the managing and coordination of the BIM models on a variety of construction projects. Leading the coordination efforts both internally and externally. Setup and manage Navisworks, CAD, Revit, and Procore drawing models for projects.
Experience in Designing Piping Systems for Commercial Construction Drawings is a requirement for this role.
Essential Functions:
* Sets up CAD & Revit Pipe Drawing Models for Production
* Generates Navisworks models for coordination
* Runs clash detection in Navisworks for coordination
* Runs coordination meetings internally & externally
* Acts as BIM liaison to customer
* Cleans up container models for production use
* Oversees light modeling of parts or equipment not available from manufactures
* Manages Revit model(s)
* Manages the Procore Model and Coordination Issues application
* Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Required:
* 3 + years of experience in a mechanical contractor environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Must be proficient in current versions of Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Revit, Solidworks or comparable software
* Possess the ability and willingness to learn and grow in a team environment
* Must possess creative and innovative problem solving skills
* Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills
* Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
* Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)
