Essential Technical Responsibilities Perform design duties listed as follows: Lead detailed CAD design of high voltage substation and switchyards. Design packages encompass creating the general arrangement from the operating single line diagram, site layouts, sections/elevations, bus and overhead conductor calculation/selections, ground grid, cable tray/trench/duct bank, yard lighting, lightning protection, prefabricated control building layouts, AC/DC station service supply, voltage drop, conduit/cable tray fill, bill of materials, etc. Support the development of protection and control design packages encompassing P&C single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, etc. Coordinate with renewable energy collector system, civil, structural and transmission line design and studies teams. Interface with internal and external team members including electrical engineers, electrical designers, drafters, project managers, and take ownership of the project to meet and exceed client expectations. YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Electrical Lighting Designer II is a mid-level designer responsible for creating marked drawings, model development, and other documents showing equipment and device layouts and branch circuiting for power, lighting, and auxiliary drawings. In addition, this position provides calculations and documentation for the design of lighting and power systems, as well as details as required to define and clarify the intent of the design on drawings. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fire Alarm System Designer to join our team. This role is focused on the end-to-end design of code-compliant and technically sound fire alarm systems for commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will hold a current Texas Alarm Planning Superintendent (APS) license and have a minimum NICET Level III certification in Fire Alarm Systems. This position plays a key role in project delivery-from system layout to permitting-and includes managing external design subcontractors. While the core focus is on fire alarm design, experience with security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion) is a plus. M&S Engineering, LLC seeks qualified candidates that are highly organized, energetic, self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team for the entry level Non-Exempt position of Electric Distribution Designer Trainee. The trainee position is mentored under the guidance of Electric Distribution Designers to learn processes for the production of electric distribution field designs, staking of distribution facilities, project estimation and preparation of construction prints using electronic design/estimation software in accordance with the clients standards of construction and specifications. This position will report to the office and is not remote. Requirements Include: * Must possess a High school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass background check and drug screening and possess a current Texas Drivers License with an insurable driving record. Required Duties, Responsibilities and Skills Include: * Ability to represent self professionally in both M&S and the clients image while meeting with property owners, engineering firms and construction resources. * Ability to stay abreast with the changing technologies, work planning, and design methodologies associated with Electric Distribution Design. * Ability to take personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy and time constraints of work product. * Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Ability to multi-task several projects through different requirements of design iterations and priority shifts. * Proficient with MS Outlook and working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. * Ability to work outdoors for extended hours in various climate conditions and travel, including overnight stays for up to five nights. * Ability to walk over and across various terrain and carry surveying instruments, field and staking equipment for the purpose of laying out staking for Electric Distribution Design. * Ability to use tools to clear brush, or shallow excavation to locate property identifiers for the purpose of staking and design of distribution facilities.
