The Sentinel Program (formerly known as GBSD) is an enormous and complex Mega-Project replacing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without a doubt, Sentinel is one of the Department of Defense s (DoD s) most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment or replacement of more than five hundred aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly-designed, technologically-advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command & control system (including an updated airborne launch capability) as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the next 4-5 decades. This is a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to deploy over a nine-year period beginning in the late 2020s and remaining operational until at least 2075. Responsibilities Design HVAC and ventilation systems for large, complex facilities (data centers, defense, industrial, nuclear, or petrochemical) Collect HVAC, safety, and system requirements and translate them into compliant designs Perform airflow calculations, heat load analysis, and equipment sizing/selection Develop and revise ventilation diagrams, calculations, equipment datasheets, and specifications Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams (structural, electrical, I&C, civil) Support equipment procurement in accordance with QA and regulatory requirements Prepare technical reports and resolve design and integration challenges Support safety analyses and hazard evaluations for regulated facilities Participate in design reviews and apply redlines and engineering standards Qualifications Required Qualifications (Combined Levels) U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Valid Real ID-compliant driver's license or state ID Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited) 2+ years (mid-level) OR 6+ years (senior-level) HVAC system design experience Experience designing HVAC systems for facilities, not equipment lines Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements Experience with: HVAC airflow calculations HVAC equipment selection Ventilation and environmental control systems Large, complex facilities such as: Data centers Government or defense facilities Nuclear, petrochemical, or industrial plants Hospitals, campuses, or large commercial buildings Preferred / Desired Experience Experience supporting DOE or DOD programs Vendor coordination and HVAC equipment procurement CGD and/or Environmental Equipment Qualification Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Software experience: Trane TRACE™ 700 VariTrane™ Duct Designer AutoCAD (Plant or facility design preferred) Strong documentation and multidisciplinary collaboration skills Pay $90,000 - $185,000 DOE Schedule Monday- Friday 8a-5p | 100% Onsite | 9x80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off) Nexeo Benefits •Medical, Dental, Vision, Limited Life, Short-Term Disability. •Refer a Friend Bonus | Other Financial Incentives (Bonuses). •Weekly Pay | Direct Deposit | Rapid Pay Card. •Hassle-Free Job Search: A Nexeo Recruiter is always available to assist you.
