GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Automotive Technology Instructor provides students with a comprehensive, hands-on education in automotive repair and maintenance. This position is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in areas such as brake systems, engine performance, electrical systems, and advanced diagnostics. The instructor will guide students through real-world repair projects, preparing them for industry-recognized certifications and successful entry into the automotive field. A strong background in the automotive industry and a passion for teaching technical skills are essential for success in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Develop and deliver lessons aligned with Ohio Career-Technical Content Standards for Automotive Technology.
* Provide engaging, hands-on instruction in all areas of automotive technology, including brake systems, engine performance, electrical systems, steering/suspension, and diagnostics.
* Prepare students for success on ASE Student Certification exams and other industry-recognized credentials.
* Develop lesson plans, lab exercises, and assessments aligned with state standards and program objectives.
* Supervise students in both classroom and lab settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper use of tools and equipment.
* Maintain and service instructional vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
* Integrate current automotive technology trends and best practices into instruction to reflect industry standards.
* Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and local industry partners to support program development and work-based learning opportunities.
* Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to promote skill mastery and professional growth.
* Maintain accurate student records, grades, and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements.
* Participate in professional development, industry training, and advisory committee meetings to maintain program relevance and certification compliance.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
* Occasional: Exposure to severe weather, traffic, blood, bodily fluids and tissue, light lifting (up to 50 pounds), travel to remote sites, attend functions and perform duties outside normal working hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
* Periodic: Exposure to loud noise, irritating and hazardous chemicals, fumes, and unruly children and adults.
* Frequent: Prolonged periods of standing and lifting (10-20 pounds) of supplies and materials. Bending, stooping and reaching for items. Follow all Board safety rules and procedures. Participate in the school safety training when requested.

A full-time instructional faculty position is available in the Medical Laboratory Technology Program, beginning Spring Semester (January 2026). Position in Medical Laboratory Technology Program areas to provide instruction at Clark State's Springfield campus. Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science or a science-related field, a minimum of two years of recent clinical experience, and current national ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
The successful candidate will use a learner-centered approach to teaching that incorporates active learning strategies and technology to enhance student learning. Primary duties include on-ground and online classroom teaching; and participation in college-wide initiatives.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and technology skills, ability to work in teams, and flexibility to teach day, evening, or Saturday hours and at the College's campuses in Springfield and Bellefontaine, OH as needed. Introduction to Corporate Aviation Seminar - Maintenance

This program is a one week, all-expenses paid educational "hands-on" seminar, where we offer you an accurate and comprehensive insight into the operation and management of a corporate aviation department at one of the world's leading companies. Those that are selected will spend a week in July at P&G's Global Flight Operations in Cincinnati, Ohio.
You will spend the first three days at the hangar meeting with managers and key personnel of different departments to gain an understanding of what it takes to keep a large corporate flight department functioning efficiently. The last two days will focus on aircraft orientation, aspects of flight planning, and aircraft maintenance. As the flight schedule allows, you will also get to participate in routine line & aircraft maintenance and a flight observation ride.

Outcome Assessment Coordination
Set up and manage outcome assessment activities in Moodle in collaboration with the Office of Assessment and Accreditation.
Provide training and tutorials on the setup and use of the Dragon Assessment tool in Moodle.

Participate in quality assurance reviews of online courses.
Manage the department website project to ensure instructors and students have access to current, comprehensive resources.
Update and maintain COL-related content on the Tiffin University website.
Contribute to strategic discussions supporting COL initiatives in online learning, partnerships, and digital innovation.
Lead or support additional COL projects and activities as needed.
Academic Credit Evaluation
Coordinate and participate in Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) reviews, including meetings, evaluation of student submissions, and award recommendations.
