As the Customer Service Representative (CSR) you will serve as the primary source of contact for patients at CentroMed clinic and as such is responsible for welcoming patients into the system and ensuring they have positive experiences. The CSR is responsible for registration and processing of all patients/families requesting health care, social services and counseling. The CSR is responsible for coordinating encounter data entry to meet program and agency deadlines. Demonstrate proficiency in entering charges for self-pay, insurance, and eligibility programs. Reconciles charges at the end of each day. Maintains error-free daily balance sheets. Determine patient eligibility for participation in special programs (i.e., Methodist Healthcare Ministries, and others). Assist patients and visitors who walk into the clinic. Answer telephones identifying self and name of clinic. Demonstrate an excellent understanding of insurance (especially Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP) and eligibility (Methodist Homeless) programs. To include the use of TMHP and Availity to verify current insurance status. Demonstrate ability to schedule patient appointments according to established protocols. Maintain 100% productivity rate. Demonstrate proficiency in encounter entries, maintaining logs, knowledge of referrals, and outreach paperwork. Review and update household's financial and demographic information annually. Perform intake interview on all new patients using a standard registration form and confirm homelessness. Review and update patient registration form and demographic information periodically. Assemble necessary medical/dental record forms for specific patient categories and initiate encounter form as necessary. Follow-up on no-shows as directed by Provider. Maintain excellent personal attire to include uniform, nametag, and compliance with CentroMed appearance as outlined in the Employee Policy Handbook. Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Assist clinical teams in patient assessment via observation and notifies clinician in the event of an emergency. Abide by policies and procedures dictated in the Employee Safety Handbook, to include maintaining agency, OSHA and JCAHO compliance standards. Participate in the agency's Quality Improvement Program. Assists with outreach activities and other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position. As the Facility Attendant, you will perform a variety of functions related to the up-keep of assigned buildings, grounds, related facilities and assigned areas, in a clean, neat and orderly manner. The Facility Attendant has the primary responsibility for cleaning the center in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows and completes the CentroMed's daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule. These duties include: Keeps all indoor work areas free of debris and trash. Disinfects and cleans trash cans and changes bags daily. Inspects all areas of clinic frequently. Daily sweep all hallways, waiting areas, office floors, breakrooms and stairs. Cleans public and staff restrooms and disinfects to maintain at acceptable sanitary conditions. Daily mop floors in waiting areas, breakrooms, bathroom, office and classrooms to maintain a clean condition. Daily vacuums all carpets. Daily sweep and clear entrance walk ways. Maintains grounds and parking lot free of trash and debris Monitors the supply of cleaning products and informs Clinic Director of needed supplies. Keeps cleaning equipment and storage areas orderly and in compliance with safety standards. As the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will have the opportunity to educate pregnant mothers and families about the benefits of breastfeeding. The Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will also assist mothers in successfully breastfeeding their infants. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach classes on the advantages of breastfeeding and the management of normal breastfeeding experiences. Provide information and promote breastfeeding among peers; addressing specific concerns of expectant mothers, and correcting misinformation which may prevent a pregnant woman from breastfeeding. Provide hands-on assistance to mothers with breastfeeding problems which includes, latching and pumping breastmilk. Counsel pregnant and breastfeeding mothers on a one-to-one basis. Sanitize breastfeeding room and counseling offices after each use with Cavi-wipes. Support women during a normal breastfeeding experiences, identify breastfeeding experiences that are not the norm, and make appropriate referrals. Counsel by telephone on breastfeeding problems and make follow-up phone calls. Distribute breast pumps to those WIC participants who demonstrate a need. Provide support and information to breastfeeding mothers who may need advice to continue breastfeeding while working and/or attending school. Make hospital and/or home visits when necessary. Answer breastfeeding calls received on breastfeeding helpline for CentroMed WIC. Be knowledgeable of the TXIN system; including ability to complete prenatal and breastfeeding questionnaires as well as the issuance and return of breast pumps. This also includes the ability to upload documents as needed. Promotes health among patients by advising patients on diet, hygiene and disease prevention. Documents and charts all treatment modalities administered and preventive medicine prescribed in patient's medical chart in accordance with accepted medical protocols. Makes referrals to specialists when necessary for treatment of medical conditions following guidelines established by the SVP/Chief Medical Officer and managed care contracts. Works as a member of the medical staff in implementing the objectives and the Clinical Outcome measures by Life Cycle Groups. Works as a member of the medical staff in identifying the medical issues of the community and to develop best treatment plans. Provides medical assistance to other Physicians and mid-level providers as necessary or provides coverage for patients in the absence of their regular treating physician. Keeps SVP/Chief Medical Officer informed of trends and increases in numbers of medical conditions and illnesses being reported by patients. Keeps up with CME requirements for Texas License and Board Certification. Abides by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Centro del Barrio Infection Control Manual. Abides by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual. Participates in after hour care, to include patient calls and hospital coverage. The Customer Service Representative for the Call Center Department serves as a primary source of contact for patients at El Centro del Barrio clinics and as such is responsible for welcoming patients into the system and ensuring they have positive experiences. The CSR is responsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments for all patients/families requesting health care services. The CSR will answer general questions asked by callers, or transfer callers to other parties if appropriate. The CSR will also make appointment reminder phone calls to patients as required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrate ability to provide excellent customer service to all callers including, whenever possible, “first call resolution.” Complete all calls as efficiently as possible, while still providing excellent customer service, to maximize the number of calls the Contact Center can handle and to provide a high service level to all callers. Demonstrate proficiency in looking up patient accounts and encounters in the practice management system, using a variety of fields including but not limited to name, birth date, social security number, and account number. Demonstrate proficiency in scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments in the practice management system based on patient or clinic needs. Demonstrate a strong ability to schedule patient appointments according to established protocols by service line (medical, obstetrics, dental, and behavioral health) and by provider. Answer telephones using script, identifying self and name of clinic. Demonstrate a basic understanding of insurance (especially Medicaid and CHIP) and eligibility programs. Make appointment reminder calls to patients (if an automated system is not making the calls), and follow up on calls where the automated system is unable to contact the patient.
