AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fulfill responsibilities as stated in the DOL Apprenticeship Program and become a skilled Journey person, certified by the DOL, and an A-Class Trades person within 4 years of training.
Work progressively towards completing 4 years of training; including 6000 hrs on the job learning & a minimum of 576 hrs class room instruction
Maintain a minimum 70% passing rate
Commit to learning all aspects of Electrician trades:
Developing the skills to work from Electrical and Mechanical drawings
Develop and understanding of AC/DC installations
Installation of cabling systems in marine applications
Develop termination skills of AC/DC and control systems
Practice safe working habits when using power tools and machinery
Miscellaneous tasks as directed by supervisor or instructor

Job Description
An Ingalls First-Class Electrician also called a Electrical Journeyman, is responsible for the layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power.
