Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; OR equivalent hands-on field experience
1-3 years of construction or electrical systems experience preferred (strong internship/co-op experience valued)
Working knowledge of MEP systems, construction documents, and project workflows

Requirements
* Experience: Seeking 5+ years of experience
* License/Certification: Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, or the ability to obtain a PE license.
* Solid technical experience in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction administration.
* Collaborative approach working with other disciplines, establish and maintain budgets and work in partnership with engineers throughout the organization.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Thorough knowledge of NEC Codes.

BIOFerm™ is a Wisconsin-based renewable energy company specializing in turnkey anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading facilities. Our mission is to provide sustainable and economical solutions for organic waste diversion, transforming food waste, manure, biosolids, and other organic materials into renewable natural gas (RNG), green energy, vehicle fuel, heat, and organic products.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, program, and integrate control systems for anaerobic digestion and biogas facilities based on specific control philosophy.
Develop and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for system automation and monitoring.
Specify, configure, and calibrate field instruments including sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control devices.
Create and maintain P&IDs, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., IEC, ISA), and safety regulations.
Design and plan firmware and software architecture for process control and system automation.
Develop start-up and commissioning strategies; lead on-site commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
Design user interfaces for control systems to ensure clear, intuitive plant operation and monitoring.

The Electrical Instrumentation Engineer will provide technical leadership and expertise with respect to system modernization and maintenance, will create plans, schematics, and one-lines, and will lead and support small and large instrumentation and controls projects with a focus on reliability and technical execution.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Support instrumentation-related threat mitigation action plans and incident management investigations and actions
+ Ensure the smooth real-time operation of the instrumentation system by performing and analyzing technical studies and data, developing strategies and alternatives, and establishing and documenting operating procedures
+ Works within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable electrical design packages for low and medium voltage electrical infrastructure
+ Lead the Instrumentation and Control design for projects and define control scheme in alignment with industry and client standards to satisfy power system reliability requirements
+ Review data sheets, control block diagrams, and functional/ operational descriptions for all instrumentation related projects
+ Provide technical leadership and serves as a subject matter expert, delivering professional and technical guidance on programs, projects and initiatives.
+ Mentor and support team members, offering guidance and encouraging initiative while helping them develop as engineers and technical leaders.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation and Control Engineering
+ **7+ years' experience** in instrumentation and control systems **within the industrial electrical and/or hyperscale data center sector**
+ Expertise in the design, application, and implementation of distribution and generation instrumentation and control systems for building level infrastructures
+ Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the industry standards that governs the selection, testing and performance of instrumentation sensors and control schemes
+ Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of global standards such as ISA, IEC, IEEE and other related to instrumentation and control systems
+ **Experience working with DCS, SIS and PLC** s and developing, reading and understanding P&IDs and control schematics

Personnel:
· Assists Vice President Global Research and Development in attracting and hiring top engineering talent
· Provides work direction to engineers
· Train and mentor staff in product development processes
· Coach engineers to maximize KPI scores
Key Component and Product Development:
· Product specification review and communication with various marketing and factory staff to set development plan
· Translation of product requirements into actionable technical development tasks
· Assist product managers and engineering staff in working through any roadblocks with deliverables
· Monitors resource use by participating in project sign offs at critical phase gates
· Lead communication window for technical development teams between America and Asia
Project Engineering:
· Lead team on multiple projects through key component and product development processes

Production support:

Requirements:
Education:
· A bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

· 5 years of project engineering or project management in electrical hardware and system development
· 10 years of professional experience in electrical hardware design
· Proficiency with motor control or control theory
· Proficiency with MCU based embedded system development
· Proficiency reading and understanding patents
Other Requirements:
· Ability and willingness to travel both internationally and domestically, communicate with overseas teams during non-business hours
