You will produce electrical wiring drawings, and review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design.
There will be opportunities to accompany and assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.

Essential skills and experience:
An Associates Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience.
Three (3) or more years of detailed wiring design experience in the development of single-line, and relay and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systems.
Familiarity with digital control systems.
The ability to perform the following:
Produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians
Assist engineers with initial design requirements
Conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements
Extensive AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience on power plants or large facility projects
A thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories
The ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process
Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write).

This position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your drafting skills, while working in a multi-disciplined team environment with other designers and/or engineers in the preparation of design drawings based on design input
You will have the opportunity to apply your computer-aided drafting skills, while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments, such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation.
You will be involved in creating drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions
You may accompany and assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project
While interfacing with vendors and construction contractors, you may be given the opportunity to explain your drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made

Five (5) or more years of physical design experience.
Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
Ability to multi-task from project to project
Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English (read, write, and speak)
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, and electrical equipment location drawings.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
