The Plant ElectricalEngineer is responsible for the design, specification, and maintenance of all of the plant Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage power distribution systems for our 24/7 Food Ingredients Manufacturing Operation.
Key responsibilities: Senior ElectricalEngineer
Contribute to the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the plant power distribution systems
Serve as plant electrical safety advisor and expert
Could manage area power and control resources,
Develop the technical skills of others outside the electrical discipline
Provide electrical technical specifications, standards, and guidelines
Maintain plant electrical documentation
Cooperatively work with engineering teams to plan, develop, support, and implement capital and sustaining projects to improve safety, reduce costs, improve quality, reduce environmental impacts and increase capacity.
Review all project plans that require modifications or additions to the plant power distribution system to ensure adequate capacity is available and loads are balanced as much as possible.
Coordinate site activities with our electric utility as required.
Provide low and medium voltage preventative maintenance oversight and enhancement
Monitor plant power systems for issues and problems
Drive corrective actions from predictive maintenance testing of the plant electrical systems
Direct planned plant outages required for major electrical and control system upgrades
Direct work for process opportunities and plant outages required for major electrical system upgrades
Provide emergency support for the plant's 24/7/365 operations
About You

BS in ElectricalEngineering and 5+ years' experience preferred. Will also consider Journeyman Electrician with 10+ years experience in a process industry manufacturing plant. xevrcyc
Experience with 120V/480V/4160V/15kV power distribution design, installation, and maintenance
Experience with Natural Gas Cogeneration Systems is a plus
Knowledge of power distribution system protection including--but not limited to--short circuit and arc flash analysis, SKM modelling, and relay applications/programming
Ability to understand and implement multiple layers of reliability and predictive maintenance testing including but not limited to transformer oil testing, infrared scans, partial discharge testing, and ultrasound monitoring.
Experience with motor control system design and installation
Experience with specifying instrumentation and electrical equipment
Experience with supporting and/or managing large capital projects that require electrical and instrumentation construction

Design for the exceptional case

Control the critical path
Use tools and milestone checklists to keep engineering actions on time, document slippage causes, and propose corrective actions proactively.
Adapt as requirements evolve

Education & Experience

Technical Expertise
Proficiency with Caterpillar toolsets (CAT ET, CAT Monitoring Software, SIS Web, TMI, EDDC) is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform work as an electricalengineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site visits, and project management.
Conceptualize the initial electrical design approach for all project types and have overall responsibility for the electricalengineering work in the Wisconsin office.
Exercise judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices to include plan/specifications, design/build, and construction manager roles and responsibilities.
Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies.
Resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
Serve as liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
Organize and prepare all electrical construction drawings (single-line diagrams, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Also participate in contract bidding/administration and on-site project management.
Conduct electrical systems analysis, such as arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies utilizing power system analysis software.
Understand power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Experience: 5-10+ years of experience working as an electricalengineer. However, we are open to considering a diverse range of experience and skill levels. Experience with AutoCAD and SKM/ETAP (or other power systems analysis software) is preferred.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and a full benefits package, including holiday, vacation, health insurance, disability, and life insurance, 401K.
