Engineer will assist in process development while supporting upstream design and downstream activities such as hands-on electrical and RF testing and trouble-shooting, electrical assembly and board processing using Surface Mount Technology (SMT) methods, fixturing design, supplier reviews and parts obsolescence resolution, addressing quality issues and other activities based upon the needs of programs. Additionally, this position may advise design engineers on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), provide inputs on scaling manufacturing techniques, and other production-related matters. The environment will be a combination of office, manufacturing floor and test laboratory work.
An example of tasking would be to develop or revise process work instructions to ensure repair personnel have the training, tools, techniques, and steps to test, troubleshoot and repair complex electrical assemblies. Intern will work with engineers and production personnel to understand the problems, address obstacles encountered during assembly and integration, develop solutions and provide recommendations, and appropriately communicate to personnel who would be performing the operations. Continued support of the process would allow for follow-up to capture issues and make iterative improvements to the processes and work instructions, and document lessons learned.

+ Collaborate with other departments, subject matter experts, technicians, and vendors to obtain pertinent information to complete the planning, design, and execution of proposed projects as well as working closely with the team to obtain construction permits from local authorities.
+ Monitor and control project performance during Project Execution stage to ensure project meets agreed quality, cost, and time parameters in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
+ Collaborate with Project Controls on project administration (scheduling, estimating, cost management, schedule management, etc.) to optimize project resources. Conduct productivity analysis to identify and resolve critical variances so that project can achieve established objectives.
+ Coordinate with Supply Chain in the development of a contracting plan; prepare bid requests and evaluate based on sound engineering and business principles.
+ Keep accurate and current project documentation to maintain all documentation necessary.
+ Develop and maintain working knowledge and ability to apply engineering standards and regulatory requirements as they relate to the projects.
+ Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Required bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
+ Work Environment: travel to field locations or fabrication sites will be required; therefore, a valid driver's license is required.
+ Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of individuals/employees.
+ Work Experience: 6+ years of industry experience preferred.
LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Preferred location is Findlay, OH or Indianapolis, IN. Other L&SE locations may be considered. Travel up to 25-35% of the time is expected, including some overnight travel. A valid Driver's License is required. We offer a hybrid work schedule.
