    About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing MEP design team in Florida. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the design and coordination of electrical systems for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial building projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead electrical design and documentation for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial facilities. Develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system designs in accordance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, Florida Building Code, etc.). Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and civil engineers. FMPA is looking for a qualified student to be part of our Engineering Services Department working on a variety of assignments related to modeling, mapping and power system analysis for electrical systems at FMPA's electric power plants as well as electric distribution systems of FMPA's member utilities. Position Status Full Time for Spring 2026 Job Overview The selected student would be responsible for updating or creating one line and three line diagrams in AutoCAD. Settings review in ETAP PowerStation (modeling of large electric power plants). Produce bid documents consisting of layout drawings, one-line, riser, schedules, details, and specifications. No experience in these software platforms is required. FMPA Engineers and Member Services staff will provide oversight, guidance and the necessary training in the use of the software platforms. Other assignments will be in related fields as agreed and as time allows. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about real apparatus and design conventions applied at electric power plants and in electric utility distribution systems in the field while gaining experience using widely adopted electric power industry software platforms.
