What You Will Do * Hardware design & validation * Lead design and validation of complex electronic systems, including chip-down ARM and x86 SoCs, network switches, high speed interfaces. * Review and provide guidance on schematics, PCB layouts, component selection and system design for reliability, compliance and cost optimization. * Technically guide board bring-up, validation, signal integrity analysis and pre-compliance activities. * Customer-focused solution collaboration * with firmware and mechanical team members to ensure seamless integration and synergies. * with software engineering and architecture to ensure alignment and overall optimization. * With product management on technical feasibility and design trade-offs. * With engineering management on complexity estimates, work breakdowns, milestones and risk burndown. * Strategic and operational involvement * Support and lead root-cause analysis for hardware issues from initial prototypes through production. * Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools and documentation practices. * Provide valuable input into risk assessment, regulatory certification planning and supply chain resilience evaluations. * Leadership & Mentorship * Serve as technical mentor to other members of the hardware team. * Identify and advocate for professional development opportunities alongside engineering management. * Guide innovations to alignment with strategic direction, outline design trade-offs especially around cost/time and modularity/complexity. Who You Are and What You Bring * 10+ years of industry experience in electronics design. * Proven track record of delivering production-grade hardware from concept through manufacturing. * Expertise in digital circuit design, high-speed interfaces and power supply design. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on documentation suitable for an intended audience. * Ability to lead by example and inspire excellence through challenges and complexity. * Comfortable working in agile development environments * Experience with Altium Designer (preferred) or similar schematic capture and layout tools. * Strong understanding of DFM, DFT, signal integrity, power network analysis, thermal and EMI/EMC considerations. In this role, you will champion the build of electronics for the PassiveLogic ecosystem, including developing a wide range of compute, automation, sensor, and wireless product solutions. Projects here are diverse and require a wide array of expertise ranging from compute engines to environmental sensors, offline power supplies, industrial networking, and wireless communications. What you'll do Power Design: Own DCDC power supply design (extra bonus points if you know ACDC). Analog Mastery: Develop and validate analog circuitry that interfaces smoothly with the Sense Family, the Hive, and the rest of the PassiveLogic ecosystem. High-Speed Digital: Design and lay out high-speed digital circuits that keep up with our autonomous platform's computational demands. System Thinking: Collaborate across mechanical, embedded, and software teams to deliver robust, integrated solutions. Hands-On Prototyping: Bring up boards, debug, and iterate quickly-from whiteboard sketches to oscilloscopes in the lab.
