Controls Systems Engineer
Department: Engineering / Maintenance Reports To: Engineering Manager
Toyoda Gosei, a Tier One supplier to Toyota, is seeking a highly skilled Controls Systems Engineer to support and enhance our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems to optimize production efficiency, improve safety, and ensure high-quality manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs for automated manufacturing systems.
Integrate and troubleshoot Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems to improve operator usability and efficiency.
Perform electrical control system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, production, and quality, to enhance system performance.
Ensure compliance with Toyota Production System (TPS) principles and industry safety standards.
Maintain and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new automation equipment.
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation and controls.
Train maintenance and production teams on PLC/HMI systems for troubleshooting and basic operation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar).
Experience with HMI development and integration (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, etc.).
Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, sensors, and motor controls.
Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, and SCADA applications is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug control systems in real-time under production conditions.
Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) or Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
