The Manager, Electrical Engineering, provides direction and management for a team of engineers to support Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System product development. A primary responsibility for the Electrical Engineering Manager is to coordinate with other departments to meet the milestones during product development cycles. One participates in defining and executing the overall engineering product development strategy, budget, team development and evaluation. Monitors developments within related fields of technology to ensure products are innovative and competitive.
Position Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of design and development of electrical projects and oversees the implementation of the technology into finished products to ensure that department goals and objectives are met
Oversees the design process from design concept through manufacture and develops, coordinates and maintains comprehensive project plans, work schedules and budgets
Selects and assigns projects to outside vendors and independent contractors as necessary
Assists with the creation of specification sheets, instructions and other product-related materials
Reviews and makes recommendations on policies and procedures to maximize departmental operating performance and manages fiscal responsibility for the Engineering department
Actively supports commitment to Quality and Safety, and all quality and safety objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement
Trains, oversees and coordinates the work of Engineering Staff to ensure that engineering designs are meeting product and quality specifications in addition to being detailed, accurate and completed in a timely manner
Leads and influences teams in decision making, schedule adherence and scope management
Ensures that staff is contributing at maximum potential through rigorous hiring practices and an emphasis on training, development, goal setting and performance management on a regular and timely basis Provides mentorship to engineering team
Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10 - 12 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, with minimum 5 years managerial experience
Experience in analog electronic design required
Experience in designing low volume and high quality electronic products
Experience in PCB and electronic design using software
Ability to design and develop products from concept through manufacture, analyze and resolve quality assurance issues in a timely manner

UVM/ SystemVerilog Design Verification Engineer

+ The project relates to the design and verification of a custom controller for analog components. The controller has interfaces such as SPI, Ethernet and AXI to driven the internal components and send data. **Responsibilities** + As a UVM/ SystemVerilog Design Verification Engineer, you will own functional verification for a custom controller.
+ You will develop functional verification infrastructure to ensure functional correctness of a design as well as improve the throughput of the verification effort.
+ In this role, you will develop test plans for functional units and subsystems.
+ You will analyze coverage from various dimensions and develop monitors and checkers for better quality assurance. In the final stages, you will also run GLS related simulations.
+ UVM/python test development for driving VIPs and other stimulus drivers.
+ Generation of test components such as monitors, scoreboards and python models.
+ Coverage closure and GLS bringup and testing.
**Mandatory:**
+ 8 years of experience with verification methodologies and languages such as UVM and SystemVerilog.
+ Experience developing and maintaining verification testbenches, test cases, and test environments.

+ Experience in ethernet, SPI and AXI is required.

The annual pay range for the Electrical Engineer position is $100,000 to $130,000.

About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Test Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic Space Systems team. In this role, will will be responsible for standing up, maintaining, and integrating the hardware infrastructure that powers our engineering test environments, all while working closely with engineers across disciplines. You'll collaborate with teams to ensure reliable test systems, seamless integration of third-party equipment, and robust infrastructure documentation and support.
This position is based on-site in our Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA office.
Key Responsibilities
Stand up and maintain servers, computers, and other hardware test resources.
Install and integrate third-party test systems such as thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, and power supplies.
Develop and maintain documentation to support test infrastructure and ensure repeatability.
Troubleshoot hardware issues in partnership with engineers.
Ensure high availability and reliability of test systems and related equipment.
Collaborate with engineers to design, integrate, and operate test infrastructure for Umbra internally developed hardware, such as radios, avionics, GNC peripherals and other subsystems including FlatSats.
Contribute to test readiness and operational success by maintaining hardware performance, reliability, and documentation.
Occasionally support mission-critical activities such as launch and test campaigns outside of standard hours (evenings, weekends).
Perform additional engineering tasks as required to support program milestones and mission success.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3-5+ years of professional experience in hardware-focused engineering roles.
Proven experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, computers, and test hardware.
Hands-on experience integrating third-party test systems (thermal, vacuum, power supplies, etc.).
Strong knowledge of power and networking infrastructure, including harnessing design and maintenance.
Ability to document infrastructure and processes clearly and concisely.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to support engineers across multiple domains.
Desired Qualifications
