Job Overview The Unified Capability, VoIP Voice IP System technician II is responsible for supporting and maintaining voice and data related unified communications systems and IT tasks ensuring goals are accomplished. Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: * Reviews work to ensure production and accuracy of systems configuration, licenses, and optimization. * Reviews Communications Service Agreement (CSA) requirements for USAF compliance. * Develops and submits reports to meet functional, contractual, and compliance requirements. * Conduct special communications management studies (traffic analysis, Fill Rate) as required. * Works to install, test, program, maintain, and inspect UC and legacy voice systems and associated sub-systems (circuits, trunks, interface units, channel banks, alarm, and other associated equipment). * Manages, programs, and operates UC, voicemail (V/M), and converged network platforms. * Manages power system(s) platforms in support of Unified Communications Systems. * Performs diagnostics, isolation, and corrective action on UC and other sub-systems to resolve outages. * Coordinates with commercial agencies on necessary circuit assignments, activations and terminations (Bell South, MCI, Sprint, AT&T. etc.). * Performs work in the field as a field technician to install customer premise equipment as needed. * Performs technical solutions and costing projections for projects. * May solicit market research for communications projects; reviews and recommends the selection of vendor proposals. * Perform periodic preventative maintenance inspections and systems maintenance actions to ensure optimal delivery of services and longevity of system resources. * Monitors results against technical specifications. * Assists in developing and maintaining technical documentation. * Document, track, and update any local tracking system or database system for the purpose of workload and metric reporting. * Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
