The Controls Technician is a subject matter expert related to Building Automation Systems, their component parts, and related equipment. This position will responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of components within the overall Building Automation System. Preferred Experience working in electrical utility/industrial environments: Minimum of a basic background in electrical equipment & distribution systems (120V to 480V); this should include proper training & use of PPE equipment for the systems being worked on. Prefer minimum of five (5) years experience working with electrical systems. Ability to diagnose & troubleshoot electrical systems, use multimeter, and test & make data cables. Job related technical knowledge of electrical systems such as panelboards, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, DC voltage systems, fire alarm systems, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to customer, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. Ability to use/develop troubleshooting techniques for various electrical/mechanical systems in both standard and high-stress situations. Other Job Requirements Tasks will include physical labor; examples include working on ladders, ability to carry minimum 65lbs, use of PPE equipment, ability to obtain forklift/manlift operators license, etc. Working conditions include various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to generally favorable indoor workspace, outdoor workspaces, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
