JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES The Electronic Technician typically performs their duties within an electronics lab, but occasionally operate in the field. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operate radars and other electronic equipment on a daily basis. Maintain, sustain, and troubleshoot and repair analog and digital equipment used in radar transmitters, receivers, timing assemblies, data collection, and RF and digital transmission lines. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE This position can be filled with a candidate meeting the requirements for either an Electronic Technician II or Electronic Technician III. Candidates of all skill and experience levels will be considered for this position. Electronic Technician II Requirements Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory, or a military equivalent and 3 years of hands-on experience are required for this position. In addition, an Electronic Technician II must possess the following qualifications: International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power radio frequency (RF) devices Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level and competency in soldering Electronic Technician III Requirements An associate's degree or higher from an accredited college; or technical schooling with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory; or a military equivalent and a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience are required for this position.
