The Integrated Security Systems Technician (Traveling) provides customer-focused, workplace technology support to clients, field staff, installation partners, and internal team members. While most support work is performed remotely, occasional on-site assistance may be required locally and nationally. Supported systems are primarily security-related, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and EAS. Additional support may encompass network programming, fire alarm systems, data infrastructure, AV, and other low-voltage disciplines. An MTG Integrated Security Systems Technician must deliver exceptional customer service and cultivate strong professional relationships with clients, vendors, Local Service Partners (LSPs), and colleagues. This role requires technical proficiency, extensive knowledge of low-voltage systems, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and strong verbal and written communication abilities. Candidates must reside in the Twin Cities area and are expected to perform most of their work from our Eden Prairie, MN office. Periodic job site responsibilities may be required locally and nationally, with travel up to 60% supporting client sites, installations, and service operations. To assist with critical service issues, the role includes on-call duties as part of daily responsibilities, requiring availability after hours on weekdays. Weekend on-call shifts will be rotated on a scheduled basis to ensure support during urgent weekend needs. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Services. Key Responsibilities: Create and maintain technical specifications for rental equipment and installation requirements. Develop and update technical procedures related to the application and installation of products at customer sites. Provide drawings and BOM support to the rentalization team for MAPR fleet projects. Support custom sold projects by producing submittal drawings, production drawings, and BOMs as needed. Collaborate with the Marketing team to provide technical information for marketing materials and website updates. Partner with the Engineering Manager on product development initiatives to expand Americool, Tioga, and RSR product options. Develop and maintain BOMs for new and existing products. Maintain third-party agency approvals and ensure listed product files remain current. Produce 2D and 3D drawings for MAPR equipment rentalization, including assemblies, piece parts, and weldments. Support R&D efforts for new and existing MAPR products, including fabrication assistance and performance testing. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability and willingness to travel at least 30% of the time. Minimum 5 years of experience in the HVAC manufacturing industry or similar field. Associate's degree in CAD (preferably 3D modeling) from an accredited vocational college preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience with 3D design software, preferably SolidWorks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and experience with MRP or rental software systems preferred. Strong technical writing skills. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Mechanical aptitude and understanding of various parts and equipment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
