Suggests alternative items and engineered solutions to improve reliability. · Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards. · Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards. · May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks. · Studies and investigates technical and systems methods, tools, and innovations that can be implemented in ATS sites to improve maintenance practices and updates documentation. · Prepares input for cost analysis for new equipment, repair/rebuild proposals, cost savings and innovations as required. · Updates records and reviews CMMS history and analyzes data. · Provides technical contents of sales quotations and performs T&M duties as required. · Trains and coaches less proficient technician. Primary responsibilities include operations support in setup, maintenance, and operation of high-speed automatic packaging equipment. Electromechanical troubleshooting skills are required to effectively support and assist in the maintenance and operation of automated packaging equipment. Maintains a cGMP production environment and standards throughout the production area(s). Adheres to workplace environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures while actively promoting and enforcing adherence. There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy available within HSE Mid West Acute Services. The post will be based in University Hospital Limerick. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Engineering Technician, Principal from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Purpose of the Post The Clinical Engineering Technician, Principal, will provide Clinical Engineering and Technical support to all hospital medical devices including diagnostic, analytical, therapeutic, surgical, renal dialysis and life support systems in University Limerick Hospital Group as directed by the Reporting Relationship. The holder of this post will not be under detailed day to day supervision and will be expected to exercise initiative in the performance of his/her duties The post holder may have a lead role responsibility for a particular speciality or specialities. This will be determined based on the post holders skill set, interests, speciality experience and the organisational requirements. The speciality areas assigned may change periodically and the post holder is expected to be able to provide technical support across the full range of patient-critical medical equipment. Additionally, there will be a requirement to provide annual leave cover to other speciality areas. Having due regard to service needs s/he will also liaise with other staff and grades within and outside the service/line manager as necessitated in the identification, acquisition, and support of safe, effective, and economical technology as part of a healthcare professional team, in the provision, delivery, and advancement of patient care.
