We're seeking someone who is mechanically inclined, technically skilled, and enjoys being active on the production floor. **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Design complex Tooling, Jigs, Fixtures, Functional Gauging and Facilities Equipment utilizing Solid Works for the design work. Involves analyzing requirements and designing items to accomplish desired purpose. + Troubleshoot issues in machining, tooling, or fixturing using root cause analysis tools to identify the source and provide corrective solutions + Develop a working knowledge of the facilities capabilities to ensure accurate design for Tooling, Jigs, Fixturing and Gauging. + Design test equipment as needed to support all value streams. + Analyze equipment structural designs via the use of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) to determine appropriate safety factors and capacities. + Aid in streamlining the bridge between Engineering CAD and Manufacturing CAM. This includes resolving incorrect drawings with Product Engineering, integrating new CAM tools for programmers and providing tooling and fixturing in 3D for programmers. + Collaborate within the team and across departments on projects from inception to completion. + Develop fair and equitable time estimates. + Develop Appropriation Requests for new equipment or software and supported by appropriate cost justifications and reductions. + Determine specifications and initiate the purchase of materials and components in support of design requirements. + Maintain the plotting equipment used by Tooling Design. Responsible for maintaining records and reference books that have Tool Engineering drawings. + Mentor IE tooling co-ops by providing challenging projects as well as training in Fisher procedures, software and manufacturing practices. **Who You Are:** You balance planning with actions.
