Infrastructure Engineer (MSP)
Engineer job in Chicago, IL
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Career Path → Senior Cloud Engineer / Security Engineer)
$95,000 - $110,000 + Monthly Bonus
I'm hiring again because our cloud and security practice continues to scale faster than expected. Over the past few years, we've doubled recurring revenue, expanded our project delivery team, and strengthened our cloud-first service model. We're a financially backed, growth-focused MSP serving SMB and mid-market clients across Chicago, and we've invested heavily in Azure, automation, security hardening, and standardizing how we deliver modern cloud environments.
What makes us different is the culture: small, tight-knit, highly technical, and built around real career development-not the reactive, chaotic MSP experience so many engineers are burned out from. Engineers here actually get to grow. You'll work directly with senior cloud architects, have a documented advancement track, and operate inside an efficient, proactive managed services framework.
We're now adding a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who wants to deepen expertise in Azure, identity, network modernization, and modern workplace design. If you want a long-term role where you're part of a collaborative engineering team and not just grinding tickets, this will feel like a breath of fresh air.
What You'll Work On
• Lead and own cloud-first technical operations across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, identity governance, endpoint management, and cloud networking.
• Act as a technical advisor for clients, helping shape cloud modernization plans and ensuring best practices in security and automation.
• Participate in and help deliver cloud transformation projects-Azure build-outs, virtualized infrastructures, network redesigns, and security enhancements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, positioning yourself as a trusted technical resource (no ticket mill culture).
• Improve documentation, templates, design patterns, and internal processes as we continue to scale our cloud practice.
• Work comfortably in both independent and collaborative environments with a team that supports each other.
Who Thrives Here
• Someone with 3-5+ years in the MSP world handling diverse environments.
• Strong hands-on background with Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, Windows Server, and cloud-driven operations.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals-DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, firewalls, cloud networking concepts.
• Familiar with modern MSP tooling (Kaseya, Autotask, NinjaOne, Datto, etc.).
• Excellent communicator who feels comfortable advising clients and presenting recommendations.
• Self-motivated technologist who enjoys learning, stepping into new areas, and collaborating with a team that moves fast.
• Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Azure) are a plus but not required.
Why People Stay Here
• Career path into Senior Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, or Security Engineer roles.
• Financially backed MSP with real stability, not a struggling reactive shop.
• Proactive engineering culture, predictable workload, and strong quality-of-life environment.
• A team that values learning, mentorship, and internal promotions.
• Hybrid flexibility after onboarding, monthly bonus structure, and strong benefits.
• Leadership that listens, invests in modern tools, and creates opportunities for growth.
