Our firm has been retained to fill a newly created and very unique position in manufacturing. Our client is the lead business unit of a US based, 12BB+ North American building Materials and building products manufacturing organization. Headquartered near Saginaw Bay, MI, the business unit is a thirteen-plant division that was acquired several years ago. The unit has always been able to meet production demands, but the organization wants to invest in the newest automation technologies, to include those that use AI. They now seek a Corporate Automation Manufacturing Engineer. This engineer is going to lead CAPX projects around automation upgrades. This includes visiting vendor sites to personally analyze the equipment. Ultimately, you will lead the CAPX process around the automation and upgrades. This is a headquarters based positioned reporting to the North American Vice President of Manufacturing.

Lead tire testing & tuning activities
Develop and execute test plans for tire characterization, including objective and subjective evaluations
Perform tire evaluation on road and offroad in a variety of proving grounds and test sites

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Non-conventional Utilities (NCU) engineering, systems, and measurements expertise, including deep knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal frameworks (e.g., federal, state, local, etc.). Working knowledge of designing and maintaining pressurized water piping and pumping systems associated with industry standards.

Minimum Requirements
The job requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in physics, electronics, mechanical and/or electrical drafting, fabrication techniques, heat transfer, cryogenics and computer systems; experience in the use of CAD and/or related engineering systems, including file transfer; experience in the use of exotic metals, including knowledge of their properties, in the fabrication and assembly of sophisticated research equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
