ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Engineering Interns will work on a short list of main projects over the summer with a team of 2 other interns, mentored by City staff. In addition to the main project, other daily tasks may be assigned, including but not limited to: • Perform GIS data collection to further inventory and manage the Department of Public Works assets. • Perform field inspections of existing street conditions, signage, sewer and water utilities, curb and sidewalk condition, stormwater infrastructure, etc. • Compile research related to engineering planning, design projects, industry standards, and guidance documents. • Assist with the development of plans and specifications related to capital improvement projects. • Perform construction observation and inspection. • Research state and local regulations. • Gain experience toward a career as a professional engineer.     Data Center Engineering Operations Technician Location: Michigan City, IN Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of a high-performance data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to network, hardware, and operating system installations and configurations in a live server environment. You will also play a key role in maintaining the uptime, efficiency, and reliability of our data center infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve basic network, hardware, and operating system issues in a live server environment. Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment malfunctions, coordinating with manufacturers, field representatives, and the logistics department as necessary to procure replacement parts. Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational and efficiency improvements, recommending and assisting in the implementation of solutions to optimize data center performance. Operational Excellence: Ensure all operational processes and procedures are followed with a high level of attention to detail and adherence to deadlines. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support, engineering, and logistics, to ensure smooth data center operations. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining IT hardware, servers, and networking equipment. Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and cabling. Familiarity with operating system installation and configuration (Windows, Linux, etc.). Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, live production environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
