We are partnering with a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in transportation and bridge infrastructure to hire a Project Engineer to support the delivery of multiple bridge construction projects throughout the Los Angeles region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to gain hands-on experience on complex bridge and structural transportation projects, while building a clear path toward Project Manager and senior leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of bridge construction projects, including foundations, substructure, superstructure, and deck work
Assist with project planning, scheduling, quantity takeoffs, and cost tracking
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and document control
Coordinate with Superintendents, inspectors, designers, and subcontractors
Track material procurement and subcontractor progress
Assist with budget updates, forecasting, and monthly reporting
Support quality control, safety compliance, and Caltrans/DOT documentation
Participate in constructability reviews and preconstruction planning
Required Experience & Qualifications
2-7 years of heavy civil construction experience, ideally on bridge or transportation projects
Exposure to bridge structures such as piles, footings, columns, girders, decks, and falsework
Experience on public works / Caltrans / DOT projects strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
Experience with Procore, Primavera, or similar construction software preferred

About the Role
