The Work
Operate high-reach excavators (100k-200k lb class) at 65-100' working height
Dismantle and remove industrial mining and processing equipment, including:
Crushers, screens, conveyors, stackers, and support structures
Perform precision demolition inside active aggregate mine environments
Process reinforced concrete and structural components for removal and recycling
Execute work in coordination with plant operations to minimize disruption
Follow defined demolition sequences, exclusion zones, and access controls
Conduct daily equipment inspections and communicate maintenance needs
Required Experience
Proven high-reach excavator experience at elevation (not standard demolition sticks)
Experience on 100,000+ lb class machines
Strong background in concrete processing and material separation
Experience working in aggregate mines, quarries, or heavy industrial facilities
Ability to work safely and precisely around live plant operations and personnel
Technology & Communication Expectations
Comfortable submitting daily digital work reports and field forms
Able to communicate clearly via email and mobile applications

Completes work according to specified work orders; completes required daily logs and reports.
Cross-trains work crews in proper work methods and safety procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:

JobID: 9166 JobSchedule: Full time JobShift: : Under the direction of the Craft Workforce Development Manager and/or Director of Craft Workforce Development, the Craft Training Instructor is responsible for classroom and hands on instruction in various Sundt Training Programs. The content and structure of the Sundt Construction Training Programs are supported by and adhere to the standards established by the National Center for Construction Education/Research (NCCER) and the Department of Labor. This position is specific to Heavy EquipmentOperator training.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate NCCER Assessment activities including scheduling, delivery, and tracking.
2. Coordinate and execute activities for Registered Apprenticeship programs
3. Coordination with the Craft Training Coordinator to ensure all training documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
4. Ensure the integrity of all craft training programs are upheld.
5. Facilitate the development of technical training courses/classes for craft training to include NCCER standardize training, Apprenticeship, and skill upgrade needs.
6. Represent the company in schools, educational organizations and industry associations to include ensuring sustainability of our current partnerships.
7. Work closely with Sundt's Profit Centers and projects to expand project-based craft training.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. 5+ years of successful field experience in a construction environment. Must have experience working as a Journeyman operator or Foreman.
2. A working knowledge of delivering continuing education services to field personnel is a plus.
3. Demonstrate commitment to producing change through the creation of an optimum positive learning environment.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. NCCER certified or able to obtain in the first 6 months of employment.
6. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
7. Bi-Lingual in Spanish is required.

We're hiring Heavy EquipmentOperators to join our crew. This position requires travel to project sites across the Southeast, Southwest, Central U.S., and Mid-Atlantic regions. What You'll Do
Safely operate heavy equipment including trucks, power cranes, shovels, and related machinery
Load, move, spread, and level dirt, rock, and other materials at construction sites
Monitor grades and adjust machine settings as needed
Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and document findings
Coordinate movements with crew members using signals or radios
Inspect, clean, maintain, and make minor repairs to equipment
Work flexible hours including nights and weekends, in all weather conditions
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisors
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in the civil construction industry
5+ years of verifiable equipmentoperation experience
Valid driver's license (required)
Willingness to travel for extended projects (company covers expenses)
Ability to pass pre-employment screening (drug screen and background check)
Strong teamwork skills and commitment to safety
