Responsible for coordinating and conducting daily pre-operational inspections and completion of equipment logbooks while documenting any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions and reporting same to the Site Manager Area Director(?) for follow up. Required to coordinate and maintain records of operation of facility equipment including, but not limited to, daily operating data and abnormal conditions, while reporting same to Area Director. Develop and maintain daily accurate records of loads, material movement and maintenance activities. Manage employee schedules, approve timecards and report weekly operational updates. Perform general assignments as necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the area. Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public Comply with all DOT, state, local and in-house regulations, procedures, and rules Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times Perform, manage material charging, discharging, loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site. The Loader Operator's primary function is to operate a Loader at the site of work to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building type structures; equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed Duties/Responsibilities: * Operates a Loader to complete tasks such as move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate * Must have knowledge of operating procedures as it pertains to loading and unloading materials * May oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment; perform daily safety and maintenance checks; complete paperwork and other documentation as needed * May perform other related duties as required Required Skills/Abilities: * Ability to understand directions and read blueprints. * Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade. * Thorough understanding of construction principles and methods. * Works well as part of a team. * Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening Education and Experience: * High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required * 2+ years of loader operating experience, preferably with roadways or bridges. Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. * Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment. * Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. * Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
