Louth Callan is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects nationwide, supporting our mission to build resilient and high-performing energy infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
Develop accurate and competitive technical and economic EPC proposals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and partners throughout all stages of the preconstruction phase.
Ensure cost-effective, high-quality project outcomes that align with client needs and industry standards.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of a dynamic, expanding team, playing a key role in driving Louth Callan's continued growth and success in the U.S. energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating Phase
Review RFPs and client documents to determine project scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
Develop accurate cost estimates based on preliminary project designs.
Perform material and quantity take-offs for all electrical, mechanical, and civil scope of works.
Prepare comprehensive technical and economic proposals for utility-scale PV and BESS projects.
Coordinate with other internal departments, such as engineering, scheduling, legal, etc., for their input and validation.
Request and evaluate proposals from vendors and subcontractors, performing technical alignment and comparative analysis.
Attend coordination meetings with customers and strategic partners to clarify scope of work and present Louth Callan proposals.
Use software tools such as PVsyst, PVcase, Terabase, and Civil 3D for simulations, layouts, and performance modeling.
Preconstruction Phase
Support contract negotiations and review of technical exhibits.
Participate in the validation of final project budgets and align subcontractor scope of works accordingly.
Prepare hand-off packages and conduct estimate review sessions with the project execution team.
Construction Support
Assist project teams with clarification of estimate assumptions and response to change orders.
Provide cost history data to inform future estimates and improve accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Systems, or related field.
5+ years of experience in estimating utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects, preferably for U.S.-based EPCs or prime contractors.
Experience in the preparation of full project estimates and proposals (including subcontract RFPs).
Proficient in technical drawing analysis and quantity take-offs.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Heavy Bid and PVsyst. PVcase and/or Terabase are a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Tucker Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Estimator at our company. The Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems in commercial and industrial construction projects. This role supports the development of bid quotations and packages, working closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and scope alignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect / work with historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Prepare estimates to be used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Review contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover
Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings
Quantitative take-off and computer entry
Prepare scope letters and proposals
Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors and subcontractors
Ability to perform design/build, conceptual and budget estimates
Coordinate efforts in performing take-offs, issuing bills of material to vendors and obtaining subcontractor quotes
Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work
Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Manager of Preconstruction with recommendation for resolution.
Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by executives.
Qualifications:

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
3+ years related experience in the construction industry.

Familiarity with Autobid Mechanical, Bluebeam and/or other mechanical, technical, or construction programs is a plus.
